Dimension 20 is returning with Toylight, a six-episode campaign that transforms familiar toys, wooden blocks and childhood imagination into a battlefield. The new season premieres on Dropout on 16 September 2026, with episodes arriving every Wednesday.
Dimension 20: Toylight trailer introduces the toy soldiers
The Intrepid Heroes are playing toys this time around. Emily Axford, Ally Beardsley, Brian Murphy, Zac Oyama, Siobhan Thompson, Lou Wilson and Brian Lee Mulligan return for a story centred on the enchanted Toylight — described as “the last flicker of a dying child’s imagination”.
The trailer gives each performer a distinct toy persona. Lou Wilson appears as Wyon, an axe-wielding lion in a leotard; Emily Axford plays the muscular baby Cutie Pie; and Zac Oyama takes on Tinsley, a toy soldier. The wider cast brings the same playful designs into a much darker conflict.
A colourful toy battlefield with a violent edge
Toylight appears to have one of the series’ most inventive sets and game boards yet. Classic children’s toys and timber blocks form the terrain, while many of the miniatures carry spears. Dungeon Master Brennan Lee Mulligan even has a group of thimbles deliver an especially crude threat involving a drumstick.
The contrast is central to the campaign’s appeal: bright, recognisable playroom objects are arranged for an all-out fantasy war. One YouTube commenter summed up the teaser as Toy Story crossed with Dunkirk, a description that captures the season’s mix of toy-box charm and military drama.
Toylight is Dimension 20’s third 2026 season
Following Gladlands and City Council of Darkness, Toylight will be the third Dimension 20 season released during 2026. Like Gladlands, it is a compact campaign running for six episodes.
The busy year reflects Dropout’s broader run of experiments. The comedy streaming service has added original and licensed animation, launched a successful Kickstarter for a Game Changer home game, introduced a puppet show and released its flagship Game Changer series on disc.
