Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.5 arrives on October 22, following the premiere of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners II on Netflix. The update adds content inspired by the anime, alongside console mod support, new quests, combat options, cosmetics and technical improvements. CD Projekt Red says the Nintendo Switch 2 version may launch later than other platforms.
The studio detailed the release during a REDstreams broadcast. For readers tracking major game updates alongside the wider arcade and gaming news, these are the main additions and the complete feature list.
Edgerunners II story content
Update 2.5 introduces Clampdown, a side quest set before the events of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2. Characters from the series appear in the quest and are voiced by the same actors heard in the anime.
To unlock Clampdown, complete The Heist and two gigs for Wakako, then wait for her message. The quest also awards a five-piece gear set based on King.
A new Edgerunners radio station
Night City’s radio line-up expands with HKGN 102.0 FM, featuring selected tracks from both seasons of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners.
Mods arrive on consoles
Cross-platform mod support, powered by mod.io, lets players browse and install a selection of community-made mods from the in-game menu. The feature is available on PC, Mac, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro and Xbox Series X|S, with more mods planned over time.
There are limitations, and installing too many mods may destabilise the game. On console, achievements and trophies cannot be earned when playing from a modded save file.
Night City gets new quests and collectibles
Welcome to Paradise sends V on a guided tour narrated by Night City founder Richard Night. The cosy, lore-focused quest includes a mystery and may offer a slanted view of the city’s history. It unlocks after completing The Heist and reaching 15 Street Cred.
Twelve Minor Arcana Tarot Cards have been added across Night City. They extend Fool on the Hill, activate a new quest when any new card is scanned, and appear in a separate Minor Arcana section of the Tarot menu. Finding the complete set awards a special reward. CD Projekt Red is also releasing a physical Tarot card set based on the game’s artwork.
Dual-wielding and Photo Mode additions
The new Double Trouble perk in the Cool skill tree, supported by four auxiliary perks, allows V to dual-wield Power-category pistols and revolvers. Shotguns and rifles cannot be dual-wielded.
Photo Mode gains new poses for two-gun scenes, plus frames styled like cards from the Cyberpunk Trading Card Game.
New outfits, hairstyles and cyberware looks
Five clothing collections can be bought from selected vendors:
- Maxiwear: Heywood, Arroyo and Little China.
- Jinguji: City Center.
- NetWatch: Kabuki and Japantown.
- IconAmerica: Pacifica, the Badlands and Northside.
- One additional set is due to reach Night City stores later.
The NUS Infiltrator set is available from vendors in Kabuki and Japantown. Four TWINTONE skins for the Quadra Turbo-R V-Tech are available through Twitch Drops. Five clothing sets previously offered as Twitch Drops have also been added to the base game, while new vehicle cosmetics now take their place in the Twitch Drops programme.
Some hairstyles previously limited to non-player characters can now be used by V, although certain styles are restricted to feminine or masculine body types.
V’s hand cyberware can be customised at five Glamdocs, identified by spray-paint icons on the map. Mantis Blades, Gorilla Arms, Monowire and the Projectile Launch System can receive new appearances, colours and visual variants. Each Glamdoc operates from a different shop with its own voiced introduction, animations and cyberware-skin catalogue.
