Cyberpunk: Edgerunners season two has arrived on Netflix, giving CD Projekt Red a timely reason to revisit Cyberpunk 2077. The anime’s first season, released in 2022, helped restore interest in the RPG after its troubled 2020 launch.
Update 2.5 is scheduled for 22 October, with a REDStreams presentation planned for 21 October at 10 a.m. Eastern Time. The developer has confirmed cyberware customisation and a new dual-wielding playstyle, while additional details have emerged ahead of the presentation.
The promotional artwork shows V standing back to back with Weak Kingsley, a character from Edgerunners II. V is also holding two guns, raising the possibility of new photo mode poses or other visual features, although the image may simply be bespoke promotional art.

Cyberpunk 2077 update 2.5 features
A pre-briefed video was accidentally published by YouTuber Was Nemo on 20 October 2026. It was later removed, but coverage of the video recorded the following reported additions and changes:
- Two new side quests, including one set before the second season of Edgerunners.
- A dual-wielding perk added to the Cool skill tree.
- A radio station dedicated to songs from Edgerunners.
- Five new Glamdocs in Night City, allowing customisation of V’s arms.
- Five new clothing sets.
- Additional hairstyles, with some limited by V’s body type.
- New photo mode options, including frames inspired by the Cyberpunk TCG.
- Console mod support, with mods disabling Trophies and Achievements.
- A field-of-view slider for console versions.
- Folders for organising save files.
- Item filters.
- HDR setting fixes on PlayStation 5.
- Various bug fixes.
Push Square documented the leaked details before the video disappeared. CD Projekt Red had not yet fully outlined the patch when the update was announced, so the developer’s REDStreams presentation remains the key opportunity to clarify the final feature list.
What comes next for CD Projekt Red?
Although Cyberpunk 2077 continues to receive occasional updates, most of CD Projekt Red’s resources are focused on The Witcher IV, which is scheduled to launch in 2028. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is also due to receive new downloadable content in the meantime.
A sequel to Cyberpunk 2077 is in development as well, but it is still expected to be several years away.
