LAI Games and CD Projekt Red have moved Cyberpunk 2077: Turf Wars beyond its initial US location test, with the arcade shooter now entering a broader worldwide release and shipping to venues in multiple markets.

From AEI debut to full release
First shown shortly before and officially announced at Amusement Expo International 2025 in March, Cyberpunk 2077: Turf Wars is CD Projekt Red’s first arcade project. The partnership with LAI Games has produced something different from the on-rails light-gun adaptation many players might have expected: a large electro-mechanical shooting gallery with projection-mapped play areas.
LAI has extensive experience adapting major properties, including Virtual Rabbids in partnership with Ubisoft, as well as Rick & Morty, the Asphalt franchise and Angry Birds.
The machine first appeared at Dave & Buster’s venues in the United States alongside Adrenaline Amusements’ Hot Wheels: Victory Lap and Raw Thrills’ Top Gun: Maverick, forming part of the chain’s 2025 additions. After that initial limited launch, Turf Wars is now receiving a full release worldwide.
Markets outside North America had reportedly been able to order the game for several months, with May previously cited as a timeframe. However, many of the cabinets appear to be shipping with this latest production batch, which also brings a game update.
A substantial arcade cabinet
This is not a compact installation. The cabinet measures 52.5 inches, or 133.3 centimetres, wide; 155.6 inches, or 395.2 centimetres, deep; and 103 inches, or 261.6 centimetres, high. Its bright contrasting artwork and recognisable name are hard to miss, while the footprint is comparable to placing two ICE NBA Hoops machines side by side.
The size has a practical purpose. Players use substantial airsoft-style pellets fired from guns roughly comparable in size to an AR-15 rifle, perhaps slightly larger. The cabinet therefore needs space for pellet collection and automated reloading, as well as a playfield containing 48 targets.
LAI describes the feature as a “futuristic blast shooting effect”. The system also uses projection mapping, making the attraction a mixed-reality experience rather than a conventional flat electro-mechanical shooting gallery. Projected imagery can add variety to the targets and the surfaces on which they appear.
Modes, updates and hands-on impressions
The release version includes Story, Co-op, VS and Sniper modes. LAI’s description presents these as three ways to play alone or with another player, while the individual mode names listed on its site provide a broader picture of the available formats. The company also says a new update improves gameplay balance and the guest experience; the precise changes have not been detailed.

The game’s visual presentation relies on mapping imagery across surfaces positioned at different depths and levels, rather than displaying everything on a single conventional screen.
The guns feel weighty and convincing, and firing them is satisfying, although accurate aiming can be demanding. That is especially true in Sniper mode, where there is no laser or crosshair to indicate the point of aim. Targets can change from one credit to the next, and the different modes provide useful replay value.
One unresolved question from the earlier build was whether players could enter their details, record a leaderboard result or otherwise claim a score. The initial version also seemed light on characters and situations drawn from the wider Cyberpunk 2077 universe, despite the licence offering missions, stories and a substantial cast.
LAI’s current game information suggests that more involved missions are now part of the experience, although the practical effect of the update will need to be assessed on location.
