Crystal Crisis is free to keep on Steam for a limited time
Steam players can claim Crystal Crisis at no cost and keep it in their libraries, provided they redeem it before 21 September 2026 at 11:59 p.m. The puzzle fighter normally sells for $19.99.
Released on Steam in 2019, this Nicalis title combines falling crystals with competitive fighting-game ideas. Its colourful presentation hides a deeper battle system than a standard falling-block puzzler, and its recent player response has been generally positive.

How Crystal Crisis plays
Matches take place between two opponents. Clearing crystals is only the beginning: successful matches, combos and crashes help fill a Burst gauge. That gauge can then power offensive attacks or defensive techniques, making board management central to every exchange.
The game includes 40 special attacks and defensive moves, as well as a wrap-around feature that allows falling crystal pairs to travel from one side of the playfield to the other.
A crossover roster with 20 playable characters
One of Crystal Crisis‘s main attractions is its eclectic cast of 20 playable characters. The roster includes Quote and Curly Brace from Cave Story, Isaac from The Binding of Isaac, and Astro Boy and Black Jack from Tezuka Productions.
