Spoiler warning: This guide covers the full “A Pilgrimage for Power” quest in The Blood of Dawnwalker, including all four sacred stones, their trials and the rewards for completing them.

“A Pilgrimage for Power” asks you to uncover four sacred stones and read the Uriashi glyphs connected to them. The game offers limited direction at first, but you can reveal the locations through a quest chain or use the route details below.

The quest can begin after completing “A Mother’s Plea” or by discovering a sacred stone while exploring. The most direct starting point is the quest marker just south of Laslea Glen, shortly after the prologue. Activate focus mode to spot the wind chimes climbing the mountain.

If you find the first stone before completing “A Mother’s Plea”, the remaining locations will not automatically appear on your map. You can either search the world yourself, follow the Uriashi-related quests or use this walkthrough.

How to reveal the sacred stone locations

To have the locations added to your map, complete the following sequence:

  1. Investigate the alley in north-eastern Svartrau, directly north of the cathedral, and begin “A Friend Like This”. Complete the quest.
  2. Finish “Song of the Mountain”.
  3. Offer to help the Elder in Uriash Village and accept “A Mother’s Plea”.
  4. Complete the sub-quest “The Heart Wants What it Wants”.
  5. Return to Uriash Village and finish “A Mother’s Plea”. The Elder will then reveal the sacred stone locations on your map.

Your conduct matters during this chain. Remain polite, help the Elder and avoid draining anyone’s blood if you want the Uriashi to cooperate.

Using sacred stones

When you reach a marked location, use focus mode to follow the wind chimes. Once you reach the beginning of a trail, the relevant sub-quest name will appear in your journal, such as “Bear Trouble” or “Dark-Thing”. Follow the chimes to the stone.

Each sacred stone quest takes two turns to complete. Every one includes a short trial, such as defeating an enemy or investigating a site, before you can read the Uriashi glyph. Completing a stone quest awards a Ravenous Flock Manual, which unlocks the Ravenous Flock witchcraft ability. Finish the complete pilgrimage and you can fully upgrade Ravenous Flock at any shrine, provided you have enough skill points.

Sacred stone 1: “Bear Trouble”

The first stone is in Briar Sloughs, south-west of Laslea Glen and north of Mert’s Mill, an area you may have visited during “The Firebrand”.

Follow the uphill route and inspect the small camp. Continue a little farther to find a Ravenous Bear. Defeat it, then examine the Uriashi corpse, the knife lying in front of the stone and the sacred stone itself. This completes the trial and awards a Ravenous Flock Manual.

Sacred stone 2: “Dark-Thing”

The second location sits on the map’s western edge, west of Svartrau City. A practical route begins on the path west of Boar’s Back Tower, passing the Rocky Glade and Steep Steps Way shrines before continuing through Westridge Outpost. From the outpost, travel north.

The Uriashi group at the mountain’s foot attacks on sight, so fight them or sneak by. Keep following the wind chimes. After the “find out what happened” objective appears, an Essence of Grief wraith will attack.

Defeat the wraith and continue to the stone, where two Uriashi are waiting. You do not have to fight them: tell them the Essence of Grief has been defeated and they will let you through, even if you killed the other Uriashi below. If you skipped the wraith, you must return to defeat it or kill the two Uriashi. Either outcome provides the Ravenous Flock Manual.

Sacred stone 3: “Fanatics”

This quest begins in St. Tyna’s Grove, east of Svartrau City. Look north-west of St. Tyna’s Grove Tower, slightly farther north-west of the Old Inn, where you may have encountered Anca during “Echoes of Silenced Bells”.

Follow the chimes north-east up the mountain. Three wolves attack along the climb. When you reach a wooden cross surrounded by scattered bodies, interact with it to investigate the remains of the sacred stone.

The fanatics have destroyed the stone, but a piece of paper nearby reveals the Uriashi glyph. After the investigation, an Uriashi approaches. You can attack him or agree that killing the fanatics was justified. Both choices award a Ravenous Flock Manual.

Sacred stone 4: “The Ritual”

The final stone is in the Tantari Woods on the southern side of the map. Follow the river south past Tantari Tower until you reach the Vedera Spring shrine, then travel east.

The wind chimes lead to a camp containing a burning tree and the Witch of Barren Peaks. She is the most challenging enemy in this quest. Watch for the moment she raises one arm and draws blue lightning towards herself: this signals a sequence of four lightning bolts travelling in your direction.

Keep your distance where possible. If you are close when the attack begins, dodge four times consecutively to avoid the bolts. The Witch cannot evade your Voracious Bite, making a night-time attack a useful option.

After defeating her, inspect the camp if you want to learn more about the Witch. Interact with the sacred stone to collect the fourth Ravenous Flock Manual and complete “A Pilgrimage for Power”.

Quest rewards and what to do next

There are four sacred stones in total, and each one grants a Ravenous Flock Manual. Once the full quest line is complete, Ravenous Flock can be fully upgraded at any shrine if you have sufficient skill points.

The Blood of Dawnwalker is a time-sensitive narrative RPG in which decisions and actions have consequences. After the prologue, you can explore Vale Sangora and confront Brencis’ boyars in the order you choose, although that freedom can make the next step difficult to judge.
