The Blood of Dawnwalker Patch 1.1 Adds Major Changes
The Blood of Dawnwalker is set for a substantial update next week, with developer Rebel Wolves promising more than 1,000 improvements and fixes for its vampire role-playing game.

The update was previously discussed by director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, and Rebel Wolves has now outlined some of its main additions through the game’s official X account. The exact release date has not been confirmed, nor has the developer clarified whether every platform will receive patch 1.1 simultaneously.
For players who found the existing combat demanding, the current Story setting will be renamed Forgiving. A new Story option will then offer additional combat assistance. The patch also introduces a way to reset unlocked abilities and finally adds directional petting for dogs and cats in Vale Sangora.

New Game Plus is not included in the announced feature list, despite being a frequently requested addition since launch. Tomaszkiewicz has said the team is investigating the feature, but no further details have been provided.

What patch 1.1 adds

Rebel Wolves says the update is designed to make the overall experience smoother. The announced features include:
- Draught of Mind Rebirth: Players can forget their unlocked Swordmastery, Witchcraft and Vampirism abilities, allowing them to build a different combination.
- Animal petting: Directional interaction lets players pet the dogs and cats found in Vale Sangora.
- Reworked Story settings: The former Story difficulty becomes Forgiving, while a new Story mode includes extra combat assistance.
- Subtitle options: Players can increase subtitle font size and enable subtitles for every line of dialogue.
Combat, movement and technical improvements
The update also targets combat feel, traversal and presentation. The announced changes are:
- Frame Generation: FrameGen technology is being updated, with dedicated settings added.
- Camera adjustments: Combat animations and camera movement are being refined.
- Combat targeting: Target selection, enemy lock-on and disengagement are being improved.
- Traversal: Shadowstep and Planeshift should respond better when targeting and attaching to surfaces.
- Japanese PC version: Blood and gore will no longer be censored in the Steam version for Japan.

The update’s accessibility changes and additional difficulty options should make the campaign more approachable, while the ability reset system gives experienced players greater freedom to experiment with builds. The reported update details still leave the release timing and New Game Plus plans unresolved.
