Bandai Namco Reveals Dead Heat Unleashed Arcade Cabinet

Bandai Namco has officially listed Dead Heat Unleashed, the follow-up to its 2010 arcade racing game, ahead of IAAPA. The listings on the company’s American and European websites provide the clearest look yet at the new cabinet after earlier location-test reports.

The published cabinet render is not necessarily the final version. Most notably, the image does not show foot pedals, so the production hardware may still change.

Bandai Namco describes Dead Heat Unleashed as an intense racing game featuring four new courses and a selection of new cars. Its cabinet uses LED lighting designed to react to the action, with lighting patterns changing during gameplay. More details are available on the US website.

Players can connect up to four cabinets for head-to-head races. During competition, aggressive driving and close battles help build the ULTIMATE HEAT gauge. Activating ULTIMATE HEAT gives the player a burst of speed to help reach the finish ahead of the field.

The cabinet also continues a feature from its predecessor: a camera positioned above the screen. Before racing, players can use it to capture a photo, making it easier to identify opponents during a linked match.

The game includes ten cars. Their full lineup was previously shown during a video discussion of racing games at IAAPA, and Bandai Namco has now supplied the list in image form.
