Avengers: Doomsday is still roughly three months from release, but its 2027 sequel, Avengers: Secret Wars, is already filming in England. Marvel has not announced the complete cast, potentially keeping major Doomsday developments—and possible character deaths—secret.
One confirmed newcomer is Noah Jupe, known for A Quiet Place. Deadline reports that Jupe has joined Secret Wars in a “key” role, although his character remains unknown. Marvel declined to comment.
Could Noah Jupe be playing Franklin Richards?
The leading fan theory suggests that Jupe could portray an older version of Franklin Richards, the son of Mister Fantastic and the Invisible Woman. Franklin first appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as an infant in Fantastic Four: First Steps.
Even before Franklin was born, Galactus wanted the Fantastic Four to surrender the child in exchange for Earth’s survival. That demand made sense to comic readers because Franklin can reach extraordinary levels of power, including the ability to reshape reality itself.
First Steps only offers a brief glimpse of those abilities. After the climactic battle, Franklin revives his mother. The post-credits scene then shows Doctor Doom, played by Robert Downey Jr., taking an interest in the child when Franklin is only four years old.
That detail gives the theory some weight. Secret Wars will involve the multiverse being rebuilt, and Doctor Doom would have an obvious reason to monitor a young reality-warping hero. Jupe could also plausibly play the older son of Pedro Pascal’s Mister Fantastic.
Another possibility: the Beyonder
Franklin is not the only character fans have connected to Jupe. The Beyonder is an immensely powerful entity and an antagonistic presence in both major Secret Wars comic-book storylines. He can rewrite the universe according to his wishes, making him a natural fit for a film centred on cosmic reconstruction.
Because the movie is expected to follow the events of Avengers: Doomsday, it would be surprising if Jupe replaced Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom as the primary villain. However, the Beyonder could emerge as the deeper threat behind Doom’s strategy—or as a force that changes the balance of power entirely.

When might the answer arrive?
If either theory proves correct, Noah Jupe would be taking on a character capable of changing the MCU’s entire reality. The casting mystery may become clearer when Avengers: Doomsday premieres on 18 December.
