Avengers: Doomsday gets a playful new trailer
Marvel has released an unexpected new look at Avengers: Doomsday—and it is built entirely from Lego. The video adds no fresh movie scenes or story information, but reimagines the film’s trailer with remarkable attention to detail.
The Lego version recreates the first full Doomsday trailer shot for shot. That original preview arrived at the end of July and introduced a multiversal conflict involving the Avengers, Fox-era X-Men and Fantastic Four. It also offered the first substantial look at Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom.
There is one practical advantage to the miniature remake: its simpler visuals can make individual characters easier to identify than they are amid the live-action trailer’s busier effects. The recreation also mirrors the performers’ facial expressions, making the result both amusing and technically impressive.
What changes in the Lego version?
The Lego trailer runs three seconds shorter than the original. That difference is not a hidden clue about the film. The missing material is simply the countdown clock showing how long remained until the movie’s release.
For viewers who have already watched the main trailer repeatedly, this offers a fresh way to revisit the same material. Its style may also recall the memorable Lego sequence from 2023’s Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.

When does Avengers: Doomsday release?
Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled to reach cinemas on 18 December. The film faces competition from Dune: Part 3, which is also due to play in IMAX theatres on the same day.
Marvel’s new Infinity Vision format is not IMAX, although it may provide a comparable premium cinema experience. The follow-up, Avengers: Secret Wars, is planned for release the following December and has already been confirmed for IMAX.
Audiences will receive another preview of Doomsday when Marvel rereleases Avengers: Endgame with new footage from the 2019 film.
