LAI Games has confirmed plans to bring Asphalt 9 Legends Arcade DX Plus to North America after the updated racing cabinet appeared at AAA Expo 2026 in China. The announcement gives arcades a closer look at the next version of the licensed driving game.

Asphalt 9 Legends Arcade DX Plus is heading west

The Plus model follows earlier Asphalt 9 Legends Arcade releases from LAI Games. The original range arrived in Premium form without motion, Deluxe form with motion, and a VR edition followed in 2023. Worldwide sales reportedly exceeded 10,000 combined units, with China accounting for a substantial share. Its North American performance is less clear, although reports from elsewhere have been positive.

Here is gameplay footage from the Premium cabinet:

LAI Games has also released Asphalt Moto Blitz DX, a twin-player motorcycle racer using the Asphalt licence. Players race superbikes, with one mode allowing a bike to compete against a supercar. AAA Expo 2026 also showed a vertical-screen Plus revision of that title, but it appeared less complete than Asphalt 9 Legends Arcade DX Plus and does not yet have the same overseas-release confirmation.

The Plus upgrade adds a substantial equipment and content refresh. The trailer below provides an overview of the new version:

Features planned for the North American cabinet

LAI Games appears to be bringing the same version displayed in China. Its current target shipping date is September, although that timing may change. The game is also listed on It is listed on their website and has been promoted through the company’s social channels.

For operators comparing the cabinet with other racing arcades, the planned feature set includes:

  • A redesigned cabinet based on, but distinct from, the original Asphalt 9 machines
  • An 85-inch vertical 4K display
  • A motion-base seat with a moulded carbon-fibre chair
  • Surround sound and seat vibration; the final channel specification is still being checked
  • Force-feedback steering with metal accelerator and brake pedals
  • Wind effects delivered through the control panel
  • A live-action game camera
  • Animated LED lighting integrated into the cabinet
  • Linking for up to four cabinets
  • 23 licensed supercars and 22 tracks in total
  • New York and Scotland tracks added to the game
  • A Lamborghini lightbox
  • Online connectivity for Special Game Events, global leaderboards and personal accounts
  • A ticket-redemption option
  • An arcade-exclusive release

The cabinet shares several design ideas with Wahlap’s Storm Racer 2. Operators assessing a full-size arcade machine should also consider the cabinet’s footprint, linked-player requirements and service needs before installation. Retrocade’s Arcade Machine Buying Guide offers broader planning advice.

LAI Games is expected to issue a press release later, with further information to follow when that material becomes available. For players, the key question is now whether Asphalt 9 Legends Arcade DX Plus will reach an arcade nearby once shipping begins.
