Apex Legends is taking a close-range approach to its next major crossover, bringing Street Fighter 6 characters, abilities and themed cosmetics into the Outlands. The event arrives on 22 September and runs until 13 October, roughly one month before the new Street Fighter film reaches cinemas.
Electronic Arts detailed the event in an official blog post. Called Apex Legends vs Street Fighter 6, the crossover recalls fighting-game mash-ups such as Marvel vs. Capcom, but its main attraction is a new battle royale variant named Wildcard.
Wildcard turns the battle royale into a brawler
Wildcard replaces the usual focus on gunplay with melee combat. Players choose one of four Street Fighter characters, collect coins to charge the Fighter Gauge and activate Fighter Form, which unlocks additional special abilities.
- Ryu: Use rapid movement to close the gap, throw Hadokens from a distance and finish with the powerful Shin Shoryuken uppercut.
- Chun-Li: Wall-run into fights, rely on faster melee attacks, fire Kikoken projectiles and control an area with a charged Kikosho blast.
- Akuma: Pressure opponents with Gou Hadoken demon fireballs before closing in for a Shun Goku Satsu finisher.
- Dhalsim: Float through low gravity, reposition with Yoga Teleport and attack from above with Yoga Sunburst.
The action takes place on a modified Olympus map filled with references to Capcom’s fighting series. During the final round, known as Showdown, surviving players receive an unlimited Fight Gauge, setting up a final burst of special attacks.

Apex Legends crossover skins and rewards
The event introduces eight Iconic crossover skins, the rarity tier used for collaborations. Each character skin costs 2,150 Apex Coins.

Alongside the character outfits, players can collect eight weapon skins, two skydive emotes, holosprays, stickers, badges, trackers and frames. Matches also award Zenny, the event currency used to unlock items. One listed reward is an Epic Lifeline skin styled after Street Fighter character Li-Fen.
The crossover’s combination of melee abilities, fighting-game references and collectible cosmetics gives Apex Legends a distinct arcade-style twist.
