GTA 6 may be packed with Red Dead Redemption 2-style details
Rockstar Games has finally confirmed that one of Red Dead Redemption 2’s strangest details was real. The revelation has also fuelled speculation that Grand Theft Auto 6 will contain similarly elaborate touches throughout its open world.

For years, players debated whether the western adventure really included dedicated physics for a horse’s anatomy. Unclear footage and Rockstar’s long silence left the feature open to doubt. That changed nearly a decade later when journalist Jason Schreier discussed it in a video covering details from his reporting on GTA 6.
Rockstar repeatedly reworked GTA 6’s weapon wheel
Schreier said Rockstar spent years redesigning the weapon-selection system in GTA 6. At one stage, the familiar weapon wheel was removed completely. After numerous revisions, however, the design shown in available footage returned to the original weapon-wheel concept.

That example helps illustrate the amount of time and iteration being invested in the sequel. It also sits alongside reports of detailed mud behaviour and sophisticated non-player-character dialogue systems.
The infamous horse detail is confirmed
In 2017, footage of the open-world western went viral after viewers noticed an unusual animation involving Arthur Morgan’s horse. Fans believed the animal’s anatomy had its own physics, with some arguing that its appearance changed in different weather conditions.
Rockstar never publicly addressed the feature at the time. Schreier now says it was genuine, although it was not listed as a planned production task. Instead, a developer or group of developers chose to spend time creating the animations, and the work remained in the finished game.
Schreier attributed that kind of experimentation to Red Dead Redemption 2’s lengthy development and the financial resources available through Rockstar’s parent company, Take-Two Interactive.
“I think there are going to be a lot of details like that within this game,” Schreier said while discussing Red Dead Redemption 2 and its unusual horse feature.

What this could mean for GTA 6
Grand Theft Auto 6 has not been released, but its footage already suggests a similarly granular approach. A recent leak showing co-protagonist Jason Duvall nude prompted viewers to discuss whether character anatomy also featured its own physics. The game is additionally reported to include a nudist colony, although it remains unclear how freely players will be able to interact with those systems.
The point is less the specific joke and more the development philosophy behind it. Rockstar appears willing to spend considerable time on details that many players might never notice, provided they make the world feel more reactive and convincing.
