GTA 6 and the Miami Heat turn Vice City into a live event

Grand Theft Auto 6 is taking its Vice City identity beyond the game, with Rockstar Games announcing a one-night collaboration with the Miami Heat.

The partnership builds on a reported $3 million deal between Rockstar and Miami, the real-world inspiration for the game’s fictional setting. For the event, the NBA team will temporarily adopt the Vice City name as part of the game’s launch promotion.

A Night in Vice City arrives before launch

A Night in Vice City is scheduled for 18 November, one day before GTA 6 releases. Miami will face the Milwaukee Bucks while wearing new uniforms, with the game played on a specially built hardwood court.

The Kaseya Center is also being redesigned for the occasion. A “Welcome to Vice City” sign has been installed on the roof, adding another layer to the basketball team’s temporary transformation.

Rockstar says the evening will include special programming and live elements throughout the game. The event is due to air live on ESPN on 18 November at 7 pm EST.
