A rumoured Lego Astro Bot release is reportedly being planned alongside a new PlayStation console set, giving collectors another piece of gaming hardware to watch. The information comes from leaker BrickTapNews, so Lego and Sony have not been presented as having officially announced the products.
The reported PlayStation set is numbered 72306, contains 1,911 pieces and is expected to cost $160. Astro Bot is said to be a gift-with-purchase item rather than a separate product, meaning shoppers would reportedly need to buy the PlayStation set to receive the character.
Both products are reportedly scheduled for October 1, 2026. If that pricing proves accurate, the PlayStation model would sit above the recently announced $40 Sega Genesis set but below the existing $240 Atari set. Lego has also released an NES model priced at $230.
With the Danish company continuing to expand its licensed gaming range, collectors may reasonably expect more famous consoles to receive brick-built tributes. Xbox could be a notable exception, as the brand already has a licensing arrangement with Mega Bloks.

The rumour has appeared at an awkward moment for the PlayStation brand. Some fans are currently criticising Sony over its reported decision to stop releasing new PlayStation game discs in 2028, and that controversy has shaped much of the online reaction to the Lego tie-in.
Several collectors have joked that a physical Lego product feels particularly pointed while Sony is facing criticism about digital ownership. Others have questioned why Astro Bot would be restricted to a promotion instead of being sold as a standalone set. Anyone who skips the PlayStation model may later face inflated second-hand prices if the robot becomes difficult to find on eBay.
The discussion also produced a more imaginative suggestion: Sony could add a free Lego-themed stage to Astro Bot to accompany the physical collaboration. For now, the set details, price and release date remain reported information rather than confirmed launch data.
