KPop Demon Hunters is getting the kind of physical release that makes a strong case for keeping films on a shelf. Criterion has revealed its home-video package for Netflix’s animated musical, including fresh artwork and a substantial collection of extras.
Three physical editions arrive in November
The Huntr/x story will be released on November 3 in three formats: a three-disc 4K UHD and Blu-ray set priced at $50, a two-disc Blu-ray edition at $40, and a standard DVD package at $30. Pre-orders through Criterion’s website are currently offered at a discount.
The most feature-packed option is the three-disc edition. It includes the film, a new documentary about its production, video essays from filmmakers Taylor Ramos and Tony Zhou, and postcards depicting Rumi, Mira, Zoey and the demonic boy band Saga Boys.
Those extras are housed in a box featuring new artwork of the Huntr/x members launching into battle. It gives the release a distinctive collector-focused presentation rather than treating the film as just another streaming tie-in.

From streaming success to a collector’s edition
The film remains available to stream on Netflix, so this release is aimed squarely at viewers who want a permanent copy and physical memorabilia. Its arrival also reflects how dramatically KPop Demon Hunters exceeded the expectations initially held by Sony and Netflix.
After a year of promotion following its premiere and a run of awards-season victories, the animated musical has become a household name. A related tour is reportedly being developed, although details remain limited.
A sequel is also in development under a “multiyear” partnership between Netflix and directors Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans.
