KPop Demon Hunters fans waiting for the sequel have received a surprise extra: Netflix has released a new short showing Huntr/x performing the complete choreography for “How It’s Done”. The streamer says this is only the beginning of further reveals.

The brief animation follows Rumi, Mira and Zoey as they practise the routine in a studio. In the 2025 film, much of “How It’s Done” plays during an airborne battle against demonic forces, while viewers see only a small portion of the group’s concert performance.
The new release provides a fuller look at how the trio moves to the song, giving fans a performance-focused companion to the film. Video releases and visual extras like this continue to show how animation and music can work together much like the spectacle of a well-designed arcade video.
The new short may take place after the film
There is also a small story detail hidden in the choreography. Rumi performs while openly displaying her demonic markings, something she carefully conceals during the movie. Because the trio is dancing in a studio after those events, the short appears to sit later in the film’s timeline.
Netflix has more official routines planned for “Golden”, “Takedown”, “Soda Pop” and “Your Idol”. The full-length videos are due to appear during the week on Netflix’s social channels and its Tudum blog.

The upcoming routines will reportedly feature the film’s original choreographers: Nain, Leejung Lee and K-Tigers. Rather than having Rumi, Mira and Zoey perform again, the choreographers are expected to demonstrate the signature poses and formations in a series of special episodes coming to Netflix.
Netflix continues expanding the KPop Demon Hunters universe
Since the film launched in June 2025, Netflix has continued releasing related material. That includes an alternate sing-along edition, lyric videos, bonus features and a fireplace video themed around the villain Gwi-Ma. The franchise has also expanded into merchandise, including American Girl dolls and Lego sets.
For readers interested in displaying pop-culture entertainment at home, a compact bartop arcade can provide a smaller footprint, while a full arcade machine creates a more prominent games-room centrepiece.
KPop Demon Hunters 2 is in development
Netflix formally signed a multiyear writing and directing partnership with directors Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans in March. A follow-up had been rumoured for months as Netflix and Sony Pictures Animation considered how to continue the breakout animated musical, and Sony soon entered negotiations to retain the pair for KPop Demon Hunters 2.
The original film is Netflix’s most-watched movie of all time. Its soundtrack reached the top of the charts, it earned two Oscar nominations, won a Grammy and attracted children, tweens and adults. Matching that impact will be a significant challenge for the sequel.
No release date has been announced, although the sequel is not expected to arrive before 2029. Until then, the new choreography shorts give fans additional performances and offer a closer look at the music-driven world of Huntr/x.
