Fields of Mistria combines farming, life simulation and RPG exploration with influences that will feel familiar to fans of Harvest Moon, Stardew Valley and The Legend of Zelda. Its 1990s-inspired visual style also carries a distinctly Sailor Moon-like charm.
Developed by independent team NPC Studio, the game costs $13.99 and has spent two years in Early Access. Version 1.0 launches on Steam on 5 August.
The Early Access release has been exceptionally well received, holding an “Overwhelmingly Positive” rating after more than 21,000 reviews. Updates during that period added secret bachelorettes, expanded farming systems, new quests and story progression, including the game’s extensive mines.
Its community has remained busy throughout development, sharing fan art, campaigning for characters such as Elsie and Olric to become romance options, and speculating about the finished game. Here is what arrives with Fields of Mistria 1.0.
What does Fields of Mistria 1.0 cost?
The Steam price is $13.99. NPC Studio has confirmed that this price will not go up with the 1.0 release.

NPC Studio says more updates and content drops are planned after version 1.0. Players can follow the Fields of Mistria subreddit for ongoing community discussion and future news.
Will Early Access saves carry over?
Yes. Existing Early Access saves transfer to version 1.0, allowing players to continue their progress. Anyone who wants to experience the complete release from the beginning can also create a new save.
What are fans anticipating most?
Romance and family features have been major talking points among the community. The game’s relationship stories are extensive, warm and characterful, so players are eager to learn more about the logistics of fantasy babies, including questions surrounding Juniper’s child.

Players are also interested in how the story changes for those who choose not to have children, including how will that affect the amount of content you’ll get?
The arrival of Steam Achievements is another point of excitement. Fans are wondering whether the system will track heart levels, shipping totals, farm decoration or other highly specific milestones. A Steam Achievements system should give long-term players new goals to chase.
Some popular ideas remain unconfirmed for version 1.0. Community wishlists include repairing the lighthouse, adding more Friday Night at the Inn content, joining the inn’s Dungeons & Dragons game and making Saturday Market vendors romanceable. These are only possible post-1.0 updates, rather than announced features.
Even without those additions, the completed release offers new relationships, restoration tasks, collections, language options, achievements and an enormous rideable chicken to keep players occupied.
