Charlie Cox has revealed that he recorded approximately 40 hours of dialogue for an unnamed Sega game, though the project has not been formally announced.

The news emerged at New York Comic Con 2026, where Cox was promoting his wider screen work ahead of a new Daredevil series. He is also familiar to game audiences after playing Gustave in the award-winning RPG Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.

Speaking to IGN, Cox confirmed that he is involved in a substantial Sega production. The role also presented an unexpected challenge: the team had apparently wanted an American accent, while Cox arrived expecting to perform in his natural English voice.

Cox recalled that the accent issue became clear when he arrived for his first session. He had already been asked to prepare a very large amount of material, but then had to record roughly 40 hours of lines in an American accent.

The reveal was shared during #NYCC, with video footage posted by IGN. For readers following the broader arcade and gaming news scene, the scale of the recording commitment suggests a significant role, even though the game itself remains under wraps.

Unsurprisingly, the limited information has led to speculation. One possibility discussed by fans is Persona 6, particularly because Atlus has recently teased the next instalment in its popular JRPG series. There is currently no confirmation linking Cox to that game.

Cox has also indicated that the Sega project does not yet have a name. That wording leaves open the possibility that it is a completely unannounced title rather than a game already known to the public. Fans on social media have already begun to speculate, but Sega has not identified the game, Cox’s character or its release window.

After his acclaimed performance in Expedition 33, Cox had previously said he expected to pursue more video-game roles. The mystery project will be worth watching alongside wider arcade industry video coverage and Sega’s continuing work across console, PC and arcade machines.

For now, the confirmed details are limited to Cox’s involvement, around 40 hours of recorded dialogue and the last-minute accent adjustment. Until Sega shares more, the identity of the game remains a mystery.
