FromSoftware has pushed its vampiric competitive PvPvE action game The Duskbloods into 2027, citing final work on its game rules and balance.

The delay was announced through the game’s official account on X. The studio apologised to players waiting for the release and thanked them for their patience and support.

“While development of The Duskbloods is at the final adjustment stage, we have made the decision to move the launch window to 2027.”

The announcement added that network-test feedback showed strong interest in the game’s combat, strategic depth and opportunities for player expression. More time will now be used to refine those areas, including the rules and overall balance. October 29, 2026

Why The Duskbloods was delayed

The closed network test generated positive discussion, but it also exposed areas that could be difficult for players to understand. Some testers found the game unclear about its objectives and what they should be doing at different points.

The test also placed considerable emphasis on player-versus-player encounters. That may have left players more familiar with FromSoftware’s primarily player-versus-environment experiences feeling less comfortable with the game’s direction.

FromSoftware has not confirmed whether these specific concerns are driving the delay. Its statement only says that the additional development time will be used for final adjustments to the rules and balancing.

No precise 2027 release date yet

The developer has not provided a new launch date or a narrower release window beyond 2027. The final changes could therefore take several more months, depending on how the remaining work progresses.
