Best Visions for Final Fantasy Resonance
Choosing the right Visions in Final Fantasy Resonance can be difficult, especially with so many useful options. These picks stand out because their skills and mastery abilities remain valuable across a wide range of battles, and most are available relatively early.

This guide focuses on the strongest early and mid-game choices. Vision effectiveness is judged mainly by the skills available while equipped and the mastery abilities unlocked through levelling. Upgrade materials are generous enough to support experimentation, so use these recommendations as a starting point rather than a strict party formula.

Best early Visions in Final Fantasy Resonance
Tronn
Tronn’s active skills become less impressive later, but his fully levelled mastery ability makes him worth investing in across the roster. Half MP Cost halves the mana required for abilities, including Fina’s summons and powerful late-game skills.
The effect becomes even more useful when experimenting with builds that grant extra actions or exchange increased mana costs for greater damage. Tronn may not remain a top combat Vision, but his mastery reward has lasting value.
Warrior of Light

Warrior of Light is especially useful when equipped by Rain. Protect and its upgraded forms improve survivability against dangerous enemies, while the Multi-Cover mastery helps protect the party when an enemy is about to launch a powerful attack before it can be staggered.
His spellblade abilities also broaden Rain’s offensive options. Thunder Blade and Stone Blade, along with their stronger versions, deal physical damage while targeting elemental weaknesses. Warrior of Light can also provide healing magic, giving a party another source of recovery beyond its primary caster.
Cloud
Cloud arrives early and remains one of the most effective Breaker-class Visions for a substantial portion of the game. His Restore MP on Critical Hit mastery is particularly effective with Laswell, whose frequent critical hits help sustain repeated stagger attacks.
Cloud’s combat skills are just as dependable. His surge spellblade abilities inflict heavy stagger damage, while Braver hits extremely hard and becomes even stronger when it scores a critical hit. He also supplies useful buffs and debuffs that reduce enemy physical attack power and increase the user’s own strength.
Terra

Terra needs some preparation, but she is an excellent investment for parties built around spellcasters. Her Tenebrous Rites mastery increases magic damage against enemies affected by status ailments or debuffs. The effect applies even when an enemy resists status effects, provided it is suffering from another debuff such as reduced attack power or speed.
Combine that mastery with her magic attack passive and the Magic Boost skills of Lid or Fina and spell damage can reach the thousands early in the game. Terra also offers fire, water and ice magic, plus Drain for restoring the caster’s health.
Her max-level mastery bonus, Breaking the Limit, allows characters to exceed 9,999 damage per hit. That becomes especially important later, making Terra a strong candidate for levelling on multiple characters.
Zidane
Zidane is the game’s leading Saboteur-class Vision and the only Vision of that class available until Chapter 6. His abilities reduce enemy speed and strength, among other attributes, making him valuable even when direct damage is not the priority.
He also brings a powerful wind spell that hits every enemy and a water spell that becomes stronger against staggered targets. The latter can deal substantial damage during bonus phases, so Zidane’s offensive tools should not be overlooked.
Noctis

Noctis has an unusual collection of abilities, but the combination works well for the right character. Strength-focused fighters such as Rain and, later, Jake can deal heavy damage with Warp Strike.
His ice and thunder spells also give magic users such as Nichol access to elements they may otherwise lack. Noctis provides passive physical and magic attack buffs, while Warp Strike’s passive effect gives its user a chance to trigger a bonus phase even without staggering the enemy.
Firion
Firion’s max-rank mastery, Arms Akimbo, grants two turns and is powerful enough to justify levelling him across the roster. Unlike Shantotto’s Dualcast and Squall’s Double Action, Arms Akimbo has no stated limitation in the guide.
The extra action can be used to unleash a Limit Burst and attack, or to use two healing items in one turn. It provides considerable flexibility in difficult encounters, allowing a character to attack and recover in the same round.
Shantotto
Shantotto demands more careful preparation than the other recommendations. She performs best when the limit gauge is frequently above 50 per cent and the equipped character is not at full health.
From Awakening Level 2, she gains access to powerful magic covering dark, thunder and water elements. Her Dark Rites mastery increases magic power according to the character’s lost health, while Area Effect Adept is one of the strongest mid-game abilities. It doubles MP cost when targeting multiple enemies but preserves the spell’s single-target potency.
How to choose your Vision upgrades
There is no requirement to use every recommendation at once. Tronn, Terra and Firion offer particularly valuable long-term masteries, while Cloud, Warrior of Light and Zidane provide strong practical tools for breaking enemies, surviving dangerous attacks and exploiting weaknesses.
Final Fantasy Resonance supplies plenty of Vision upgrade materials, so try different combinations and adapt them to your party. If you are building a dedicated gaming space, explore RETROCADE’s arcade machines, bartop arcades and arcade parts for more gaming-room ideas.
