Connor Storrie, one of the breakout stars of the 2025 hockey romance series Heated Rivalry, is reportedly in talks for Marvel’s upcoming Ghost Rider film. The project is expected to star Ryan Gosling and be directed by Shawn Levy.

Storrie became widely known for playing Ilya Rozanov opposite Hudson Williams’ Shane Hollander in the adaptation of Rachel Reid’s 2019 novel. Williams also gained significant attention after the series’ success. Storrie has previously appeared in a comic-book film, with a brief role in Joker: Folie à Deux.

What we know about Marvel’s Ghost Rider film
Marvel announced the new Ghost Rider movie at San Diego Comic-Con, confirming Gosling in the title role. The actor has publicly expressed interest in making the project for some time, and production is scheduled to begin next year ahead of a July 28, 2028 release.
Marvel has not confirmed which incarnation of Ghost Rider Gosling will play. Nicolas Cage previously portrayed Johnny Blaze, while some fans believe the new film could instead focus on Danny Ketch.

Who could Connor Storrie play?

The reports do not identify Storrie’s character, but they do indicate that he is being considered for the film’s villain. Ghost Rider does not have a single universally recognised group of enemies in the way some other Marvel and DC heroes do, leaving plenty of possibilities.
Mephisto is the most prominent candidate familiar to many audiences. The character was central to the Nicolas Cage films alongside his son, Blackheart, and has already entered the Marvel Cinematic Universe through Sacha Baron Cohen’s portrayal in Ironheart. That existing appearance makes Mephisto a less obvious choice for this film.
One possibility is Zadkiel, a fallen angel often presented as a darker and more dangerous counterpart to Lucifer. Another, considerably stranger option is the Orb, a villain distinguished by having one enormous eye in place of a conventional head.
Neither character has been confirmed, and Storrie’s role remains under wraps. His dramatic range and rising profile nevertheless make the casting report an intriguing development for a film built around one of Marvel’s most supernatural characters.
