No Man’s Sky: Forsaken turns the long-running space exploration game towards cosmic horror, adding unsettling salvage missions, organic ship technology and a collection of eerie new rewards. The 7.10 update is available now, with full details in the full patch notes.

A darker kind of space adventure
Forsaken sends travellers into the more disturbing corners of the universe in search of haunted technology and biological horrors. Collectors and traders want unusual specimens and strange artefacts, directing players towards derelict hulks, abandoned freighters, planetary dig sites and infested outposts.

Those expeditions can yield biomechanical corvette modules, allowing players to give their vessels an unsettling, partly organic appearance. The update also adds new cockpits and a ship interior set, alongside fresh weapon and exosuit styles.
Among the more grotesque rewards are a larva tank helmet and the “wriggling grub cannon multi-tool”. Hello Games founder Sean Murray describes Forsaken as an opportunity to explore the game’s haunted wrecks, recover mementos and trade them with enigmatic collectors for unusual corvette components.
Forsaken’s new visual style
The biomechanical ship parts are designed for players who want their corvettes to look less like conventional spacecraft and more like living, alien-built machines. The focus gives the update a distinctly eerie science-fiction identity without removing the construction and exploration systems that define No Man’s Sky.

Useful additions beyond the horror content
Forsaken is not only about haunted wrecks. Players can now lock onto a distant constellation and warp to nearby stars without first opening the galaxy map. New postal missions also cast travellers as delivery drivers carrying packages across the galaxy.
Interface improvements include a radial weapon-selection menu and a minimal HUD mode. The latter should suit players who want a cleaner view while exploring the game’s more unsettling locations.
No Man’s Sky arrives on iPhone and iPad
The iOS version of No Man’s Sky launches alongside Forsaken and includes the game’s existing updates. Players using an iPhone 11 or newer can try the opening portion free of charge.
Hello Games says the mobile release uses custom touch controls and includes work focused on battery life and device thermodynamics. The complete game is delivered as a single 4GB download.
A decade of No Man’s Sky updates
Forsaken is the fifth major update released during No Man’s Sky’s 10th anniversary year. It follows Remnant, Xeno Arena, The Swarm and Cosmos.
The game’s evolution from a heavily criticised launch into one of the most expansive space-exploration titles has continued through regular updates. Hello Games has also said it is already planning further projects and new ideas for 2027.
