Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced the Prism Collection, a new range of PlayStation 5 accessories designed around transparent finishes and late-1990s electronics styling.

Three translucent PS5 colour options
The collection pairs see-through DualSense wireless controllers with matching PS5 console covers. Each product uses a glossy, translucent exterior that reveals some of the hardware beneath the surface.
Players can choose between Flare Orange, Emerald Green and Graphite Gray. The coordinated colours are intended to let owners match their controller with their console cover.

US pricing and release details
In the United States, each Prism DualSense controller will cost $84.99. The matching PS5 console covers will be priced at $74.99 each.
US pre-orders are scheduled to open on 10 November at 7 a.m. PT / 10 a.m. ET through PlayStation Direct and participating retailers. The collection is due to launch on 4 February 2027, although timing and availability may differ between regions.
The console covers will be sold directly through PlayStation in selected countries, including the United States. Some other markets may receive limited quantities through additional retailers. Australian pricing, local pre-orders and availability have not been confirmed in the supplied details.

A cosmetic refresh while PlayStation’s next generation remains uncertain
The Prism Collection changes the look of existing PS5 hardware rather than introducing a new console generation. Its transparent styling recalls the colourful see-through electronics that became popular in the late 1990s.
Sony has not announced a release date for the PlayStation 6. Reports cited in the supplied material suggest a possible 2028 or 2029 arrival, while increasing memory costs could push the next console’s price towards $1,000.
Physical game media is also part of the wider discussion. Sony has announced plans to stop producing physical PlayStation game discs in January 2028, prompting questions about whether a future PS6 would include a disc drive. An optional external drive is possible, but Sony has not confirmed its plans.
For PS5 owners, then, Prism is a visual upgrade rather than a performance-focused hardware revision.
