Witchbrook Release Date Confirmed for January 2027

Witchbrook, the magical life simulation game from Chucklefish, will launch on 28 January 2027 after years of anticipation and at least one delay.

The release date was revealed during Nintendo’s Indie World Showcase. It moves the game slightly beyond its previous 2026 release window, but the new launch is now only a few months away.

With its isometric pixel-art presentation and broad collection of activities, Witchbrook sits comfortably alongside modern cosy life sims. Its mix of school life, exploration and spellcasting gives the familiar farming-and-community formula a distinctly magical direction.

What is Witchbrook?

Set in the seaside town of Mossport, Witchbrook begins with the player attending Witchbrook College. The setting naturally invites comparisons with famous magical-school stories, although the game focuses on everyday routines, relationships and personal progress rather than a single grand adventure.

Students will need to attend classes and maintain their grades while also making time for the wider world. Activities shown so far include opening a business, travelling by broom, changing outfits, decorating a home, scavenging, birdwatching and exploring Mossport’s surroundings.

Features and multiplayer

The available footage presents Witchbrook as a flexible life sim rather than a narrowly structured school game. Players can balance study with outdoor activities, creative customisation and magical systems, creating plenty of room for different daily routines.

Co-operative play will support up to four players, allowing friends to explore and take part in the game’s activities together. That multiplayer option adds another dimension to a release already aimed at fans of relaxed, character-led games.
