Dead by Daylight is losing another horror icon

Dead by Daylight players have until late November to secure the game’s Chucky content before the licensed chapter is removed from sale. Existing owners will keep access, but new purchases will no longer be possible.

Chucky chapter will leave Dead by Daylight

Behaviour Interactive confirmed on October 23 that the Chucky Chapter will be removed from Dead by Daylight. The content remains available for purchase until November 24, 2026, at 11 a.m. ET.

After that deadline, the downloadable content will be removed from digital platforms and unavailable to new buyers. Players who already own it can continue to level up Chucky and obtain his add-ons and perks, although additional outfits will no longer be unlockable.

The announcement follows speculation fuelled by leaker reports and other indicators on social media. Behaviour’s confirmation gives fans only a short window to decide whether they want the licensed horror character.

A familiar problem for licensed horror crossovers

Chucky is not the first horror icon to depart the multiplayer horror game. Behaviour has worked with several major horror franchises, but these partnerships can end when licensing agreements expire.

Hellraiser’s Pinhead was removed in 2025, while Michael Myers left the game in early 2026. Behaviour also confirmed that the license for the Halloween franchise expired and was not renewed. The source material notes that this may have been connected to Halloween: The Game, released by Illfonic in September with similar mechanics.
