Avatar: Seven Havens Episode 9 Ending Explained
Spoilers follow for Avatar: Seven Havens episodes 7–9.
Episode 9 finally expands the story beyond Ellora, the desert Haven where most of the season has taken place. Chancellor Kayoko’s emergency broadcast brings representatives from several distant settlements together, revealing how the post-apocalyptic world has changed—and how closely the Havens may be connected.

The summit ends in betrayal
Ellora calls the summit because its problems are becoming impossible to contain. Bender birth rates are falling, the fear-driven Affliction is spreading through red Anomaly crystals beneath the city, and the Bending Brigade is struggling to maintain order. The visiting Havens reveal that they face similar shortages of Benders, food and other essential resources.
Jae argues that the Havens cannot continue surviving in isolation. A historic agreement seems possible until the Faceless infiltrate the gathering. Their true queen is revealed as Agam, the apparently kindly baker who supplied food for the event.
By the end of the episode, Nisha reveals that she is the Avatar, another Anomaly attacks the summit, and Kayoko orders the arrest of anyone who will not serve Ellora. The visiting delegations abandon the agreement, Karthik is arrested, and Nisha flees beyond the city walls.

Pavi’s vision points to a chakra connection
While Nisha’s identity changes the immediate conflict, Pavi’s underground experience may be the bigger clue for the series’ mythology. After drawing the Anomaly, she enters a cosmic vision and follows a road of light to a glowing red symbol shaped like Ellora. When she reaches into it, six more coloured circles appear above her.
The sequence echoes spiritual journeys experienced by Aang and Korra. It also strengthens the theory that the seven Havens correspond to the seven chakras, possibly representing the planet itself. The opening credits and the series premiere’s stage performance both support that idea, although the exact meaning of the colours and the two absent Havens remains unconfirmed.
1. Ellora appears to represent the red root chakra

Ellora is the clearest match. Pavi’s vision associates the city with a red symbol resembling the root chakra, traditionally linked with survival, stability and security.
That symbolism contrasts sharply with Ellora’s reality. Storms threaten the city, food is scarce, Benders are being forced into military service, and Kayoko responds to unrest with a curfew and arrests. The root chakra is also associated with fear in Guru Pathik’s explanation from Avatar: The Last Airbender. Fear powers the Anomaly and spreads the Affliction, suggesting that Ellora’s culture may be damaging the land beneath it.
On the new map, Ellora is the red Haven in the far south-east. Its position appears to place it in the former Earth Kingdom, possibly near the region once identified as Zeizhou Province in the Kyoshi novels.
2. Feather Mountain may be the orange sacral Haven

Empress Yesha represents Feather Mountain at the summit. Her arrival suggests a more openly aristocratic society than Ellora’s council-led government, while her people are described as compassionate and free to live as they choose.
The settlement’s name implies a high-altitude community with strong airbending traditions. Its orange position on the map appears near the eastern coast of the former Earth Kingdom, east of the Si Wong Desert and Wan Shi Tong’s buried library. That location would make it one of Ellora’s closest neighbours and help explain the delegation’s quick arrival.
If the colour scheme is intentional, Feather Mountain corresponds to the orange sacral chakra, associated with emotion, creativity, pleasure and freedom.
3. New Ba Sing Se fits the yellow solar plexus chakra

New Ba Sing Se is the easiest Haven to identify geographically: it occupies the area of the former Earth Kingdom capital in the far north-east. Its people follow “the old ways”, travel by sky bison and appear to have rejected much of the technology associated with Korra’s era.
Ba Sing Se was already deeply conservative, so the Cataclysm may have pushed its survivors further towards tradition. Its yellow designation would connect it with the solar plexus chakra, which is associated with willpower, confidence and personal agency. Guru Pathik described shame as the force that blocks it.
4. Akasha is linked with the blue throat chakra

Akasha offers the clearest contrast with New Ba Sing Se. Its delegates arrive on motorcycles, showing that the Haven has preserved or rebuilt technology from the old world, while the name “Akasha” refers in Sanskrit to sky, space or aether.
Those details suggest a blue Haven near the centre of the map, possibly the settlement closest to Ellora. It may stand near the ruins of Zaofu, Omashu or another former technological centre, with Zaofu the strongest possibility because of its engineering, metalbending and infrastructure.
The throat chakra is associated with truth and communication. That connection is notable because the Havens restrict contact, while Akasha may possess some of the technology needed to reconnect them.
5. An unnamed Haven may be near Hei Bai’s Forest

One of the two absent settlements appears as a blue-toned circle near what may be Hei Bai’s Forest. Pavi’s vision makes the distinction less certain: one circle looks green and the other blue.
Hei Bai was the forest spirit Aang encountered after the Fire Nation destroyed part of his home. Aang calmed him by showing that the forest could recover. A Haven built nearby would therefore carry major spiritual significance and might have a stronger understanding of the Spirit World than the other settlements.
The green colour could connect this community with the heart chakra, although that remains theory. Its spiritual setting may also explain why it did not answer Ellora’s call.
6. A missing Haven may be in the former Fire Nation

The other unidentified Haven sits far to the west, probably in the former Fire Nation or near the Western Air Temple. The remaining settlements are clustered around the old Earth Kingdom, whereas this one lies across the ocean. Reaching Ellora quickly may have been impossible without working aircraft or advanced ships.
The former Fire Nation capital had enough scale and infrastructure to survive a global disaster, and its volcanic caldera offered natural protection. Its purple colour and sixth position in Pavi’s vision suggest a possible connection with the third eye chakra, associated with insight and traditionally blocked by illusion.
The island chain may have remained isolated after the Cataclysm. For now, this Haven is one of the story’s least understood locations.
7. Republic Forest may be the final destination

Republic Forest is the most important new revelation from the summit. This lost Haven cut communications with the others long ago, and its reputation is so poor that one delegate immediately calls its people “the worst”.
The Faceless believe Republic Forest could offer freedom from Ellora’s storms. Agam explains that they have been stealing grain, animals and other supplies to prepare for a journey across the Harshlands.
The magenta Haven appears where Republic City once stood on the north-western coast of the former Earth Kingdom. In episode 7, Pavi and Nisha discover an industrial complex beneath Ellora containing pools of red spiritual energy. Touching that energy sends them into a memory of an older Korra arriving in Republic City, where a huge facility had been built around the city’s spirit portal.

Korra enters the Avatar State and tears apart pipes carrying spiritual energy beneath the city. Fires spread, vehicles crash and uncontrolled energy surges through the streets, recalling the destruction caused by Kuvira’s spirit cannon at the end of The Legend of Korra. The reason for Korra’s attack remains unknown, but it may have triggered the Cataclysm.
If the Republic City portal was the starting point of the disaster, it may also be the eye of the worldwide storm. The name Republic Forest suggests that the Spirit Wilds, which had begun consuming the city during The Legend of Korra, eventually covered the entire settlement.
In Pavi’s vision, the magenta circle sits at the top, making Republic Forest a possible destination at the end of the journey. Republic City’s portal connected the material and Spirit Worlds, which makes the crown chakra—associated with spiritual and cosmic connection—a plausible match.
What happens next?
Republic Forest could be the safest surviving settlement, a spiritual refuge or a place dangerous enough to justify its isolation. Pavi and Nisha may eventually travel there, but the story suggests they must first confront the Anomalies affecting the other six Havens.
