Does Clayface have a post-credits scene?
No. Clayface does not include a post-credits scene, so you do not need to remain in the cinema until the credits have finished.

The new DC film is based on a story by horror filmmaker Mike Flanagan and directed by James Watkins. It is part of James Gunn and Peter Safran’s DC Universe, which began with Superman in 2025. Like Joker, the film focuses on a Batman villain without featuring Batman himself.

A spoiler-light look at the story
Tom Rhys Harries plays Matt Hagen, an ambitious Hollywood actor whose career is reaching new heights after a best actor nomination. His life changes during a night out when he sleeps with the girlfriend of a Gotham mob boss, played by David Dencik. The mobster retaliates by having Hagen’s face badly cut.
A series of operations saves Hagen’s life but leaves him severely disfigured. He hides behind a plastic mask, while his agency abandons him, a lawyer takes his money and he is forced to return to Gotham’s Narrows, the area where he grew up during an unhappy childhood.
Hagen sees a possible way back when he discovers an experimental treatment developed by Dr Caitlyn Corr, played by Naomi Ackie. The treatment uses nanocells, initially restoring his appearance before his face begins to melt and deform. Hagen needs increasingly frequent treatments, leading to his transformation into Clayface: a killer capable of adopting other people’s appearances.
Why viewers expected a scene after the credits
The DC Universe is still establishing its larger story, which has encouraged speculation about future characters and plotlines. Marvel’s early films helped create that expectation, with moments such as Nick Fury recruiting Tony Stark for the Avengers at the end of 2008’s Iron Man.
That approach has not been consistent in the new DC films. Superman included a small post-credits moment that functioned mainly as a joke, while Supergirl had no post-credits scene. Clayface follows the latter pattern rather than setting up Batman or another major Gotham character.

What this means for the new DC Batman
There is no post-credits introduction for the DC Universe’s new Batman in this film. That leaves more time before audiences see Batman meet Tom Rhys Harries’ version of Clayface.
