Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 players can discover the safe code in the “Escape” campaign mission well before reaching the safe itself. That separation makes the puzzle easy to overlook, particularly if you explore the prison in a different direction.
This guide explains where to find the note containing the combination, how to reach the safe and what you receive after opening it.
Where to find the “Escape” safe code
In “Escape”, you play as Captain Price while attempting to break out of a North Korean prison. The opening section requires stealth as you move through corridors and avoid guards.
In the first room you enter, check the desk for a note called “confiscation protocol reminder”. It reveals that the new safe code has been moved to the security office.
Continue through the prison until you reach a slightly larger room where a soldier is positioned behind a counter. After he receives news of your escape, he leaves through the double doors at the far end.
Once the soldier has gone, enter the room he abandoned and inspect the table. The note titled “updated code” provides the combination: 8410.
Where to find the safe in “Escape”
The safe is located later in the mission, after you rescue Ghost from his captors. You receive a gun at this point, bringing open combat back into the sequence.
Fight through the North Korean soldiers until you reach the dormitory. It is identifiable by its many beds and long table. Clear out the enemies, then leave through the exit door.
Look for a closed door on the right-hand side. Enter the room beyond it to find the safe and its keypad. Input 8410 to unlock it and collect Gaz’s dog tags.
