Kylie Minogue nearly made a surprise return to the Street Fighter universe, with Orville Peck revealing that the Australian performer was approached about a cameo in the new film.
Minogue played Cammy in the 1994 live-action Street Fighter movie alongside Jean-Claude Van Damme. While the upcoming film’s version of Cammy has reportedly attracted attention for a much wilder interpretation, Minogue’s earlier portrayal was closer to the character’s game-inspired presentation.
The potential cameo emerged during an interview with LGBTQ+ publication Queerty. Peck, who plays Vega in the new film, discussed his role and his connection with Minogue. The pair are friends and collaborators, having released the song “Midnight Ride” with Diplo in 2024.

Peck said the production had tried to arrange a cameo for Minogue, but the timing did not come together. He offered to contact her directly and attempted to help organise the appearance.
“They were trying to get Kylie to do a cameo in our Street Fighter,” Peck said. “She was gonna be so down to do it, but yeah, of course, I immediately told Kylie when I got cast.”
Peck added that Minogue remembered making the 1994 film as one of the most enjoyable experiences of her life. She congratulated him on joining the new production and told him she was excited for him to have the same opportunity.
Although the cameo did not happen, Peck still hopes Minogue and current Cammy actor Mel Jarnson can meet for a photograph together. He described the idea as a meeting between the two Cammys, prompting a comparison with the familiar Spider-Man pointing meme.
When asked whether that moment might happen in a sequel, Peck said it was possible, though no such follow-up is guaranteed.

The new Street Fighter premiered the previous weekend and reportedly earned approximately $51 million worldwide against an $82 million budget. That performance may allow it to recover its production cost, but a sequel remains uncertain despite the film’s ending leaving room for one.
