Penny buns are a useful foraging ingredient in Enshrouded, but their small size makes them surprisingly easy to miss. They grow in the game’s starting region, so a careful search early in your adventure can save time later.

The best penny bun location

Penny buns grow throughout the Springlands, the opening region of Enshrouded. Look in the light forest areas and on the green hills surrounding the Ancient Spire. They do not appear in the shrouded areas, unlike the much larger shroud mushrooms.

For the most efficient collection run, travel to Harvest Homestead, west of the Ancient Spire. The field there contains almost 20 penny buns, making it a particularly strong farming spot.

How to spot penny buns more easily

These mushrooms are small, round and brown, with a button-like shape. Tall grass can obscure them, especially when you are searching quickly across the field.

There is a helpful display option that removes much of the visual clutter:

1. Open the game’s Settings menu.
2. Select the Display tab.
3. Scroll down to Small foliage.
4. Turn the setting off.

With small foliage disabled, shrubbery disappears from the landscape. The Springlands looks less detailed, but the clearer ground makes penny buns easier to identify from a distance.
