Grand Theft Auto 6 is 35 days from release, and Rockstar has shared its official launch trailer. The roughly 90-second video revisits Leonida, the Florida-inspired setting, while offering new glimpses of Jason and Lucia’s criminal partnership and intimate relationship.

Jason, Lucia and a dangerous new chapter

The trailer opens with Jason receiving a call from Lucia while he is in prison. During the conversation, he says he was discharged from the Army early, although the reason remains undisclosed.

Rapid cuts then showcase a range of heists and missions. Some of the equipment looks especially advanced, including tactical gear worn by Jason that would not seem out of place in a military shooter. The footage also gives viewers a broader look at Leonida and the open-world action planned for the game.

Romance, nudity and the limits of the trailer

Although the trailer is brief, it includes several suggestive moments between the two protagonists. Jason and Lucia are shown sharing a shower, kissing and pressing one another against a bathroom wall. Lucia is still wearing an ankle monitor during the sequence, adding another detail to her circumstances.

The footage is less explicit than previously leaked material that depicted the pair walking through the city naked. That unauthorised footage included exaggerated physics, while nearby non-player characters appeared not to react. It remains uncertain whether those scenes represented normal gameplay or were created with development tools to demonstrate nudity.

GTA 6 includes nudity, and its published ratings indicate that sex scenes will also appear. The trailer suggests these sequences are framed without showing the characters’ private parts, though it does not confirm how interactive or extensive those scenes will be.

A new song for Leonida’s soundtrack

Rockstar has confirmed that the trailer introduces “Flower in a Hurricane”, an original song by Justice. The game’s original score also features Tame Impala, SZA and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard. Earlier previews have already offered a look at the open-world game’s radio stations.

Players in Australia and elsewhere can expect Grand Theft Auto 6 on 19 November for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. If the game inspires a home gaming setup, RETROCADE’s arcade machine buying guide covers the practical considerations when choosing a cabinet.
