The Beekeeper 2 has released its first official trailer, bringing Jason Statham back as Adam Clay for another high-impact mission. The sequel follows 2024’s surprise revenge hit and is scheduled to reach Australian cinemas on 15 January 2027.

The trailer sets up a new threat from within the Beekeepers. Jeremy Irons’ character warns Clay that the organisation has gone rogue and wants complete control of the government, with plans to eliminate anyone who stands in its way.

That leaves Clay facing Beekeeper-on-Beekeeper justice. The footage promises the familiar combination of hard-hitting fights, dry one-liners and bee-themed details, while introducing Pom Klementieff to the series. Klementieff is known for roles in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning.

Clay’s latest weapon is not limited to hand-to-hand combat. He gets behind the wheel of a 1969 Dodge Super Bee, described in the trailer as “fully loaded with stinger”. The upgrade includes a passenger-side minigun, giving the muscle car an appropriately aggressive role in the sequel.

The trailer also features Clay forcing a flamethrower into a henchman’s mouth before delivering the line, “Next time, don’t be so hotheaded.” Metallica’s For Whom the Bell Tolls provides the soundtrack to the sequence.

Who is making The Beekeeper 2?

Kurt Wimmer wrote the first The Beekeeper, which was directed by David Ayer. Wimmer is expected to retain a writing credit on the sequel after working on it before the screenplay was handed to Umair Aleem, writer of Kate.

Timo Tjahjanto takes over directing duties. His previous work includes The Night Comes for Us and The Shadow Strays. Ayer, who had previously worked with Statham on The Working Man, remains involved in keeping an eye on updates.

The sequel received an early presentation at CinemaCon earlier in 2026. Tjahjanto’s reputation for intense, gore-focused action had already raised expectations, particularly because the first film included several shocking scenes of its own.

The first trailer continues that approach, highlighting a louder and more violent escalation for Clay. Fans waiting to see the next chapter will need to mark 15 January 2027 for the theatrical release.
