Battlefield 6, the best-selling game of 2025, is joining Xbox Game Pass almost exactly one year after its launch. The shooter arrives on 13 October 2026, shortly before the beginning of its Las Vegas-themed fifth season.
The campaign had enjoyable moments but was uneven in execution. Multiplayer is the stronger draw, particularly across the series’ larger maps. Its move to Game Pass is also notable because the long-running rival to Call of Duty is appearing on that franchise’s home platform.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 is also scheduled for release during October. Infinity Ward has promised a return to the series’ roots, but Xbox’s ongoing reset means the new sequel will not launch on Game Pass.

October’s indie highlights
Battlefield 6 is the largest addition, but several independent releases give the month plenty of variety. Echo Weaver is a metroidvania built around time loops: progress depends on applying knowledge gained during earlier runs.
Neon Abyss 2 combines cyberpunk action with roguelike structure and supports online co-op for up to four players. Chained Beasts takes a co-operative approach to gladiatorial combat, sending players through enemy-filled arenas while their characters remain attached to one another.
Forever Ago is a narrative adventure focused on the ways life can diverge from the future someone imagined. Another unusual prospect is Valor Mortis, a Soulslike set during the Napoleonic Wars from the developer behind Ghostrunner. Its distinctive setting will need to support the combat if it is to avoid feeling like a routine imitation of the FromSoftware formula.
