The Witcher 3 Remastered has received another update aimed at smoothing out its early technical problems on PC and console. Patch 5.01 introduces additional visual controls on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, while also addressing an audio issue affecting console dialogue.

The update is approximately 5.5GB on consoles and 8.5GB on PC. Its most requested addition is a console toggle for bloom, allowing players to switch the effect off. PC players had already been disabling bloom to reduce the overly bright or washed-out appearance some experienced.

Patch 5.01 also gives console users control over Light Shafts and Depth of Field through the settings menu. A PlayStation 5 problem that reset these customised visual options has been fixed as part of the same update.

Console dialogue audio receives a fix

CD Projekt Red has also corrected a console audio bug that made voiceover substantially quieter than other in-game sounds after players moved through the pause-menu tabs. The change should make conversations and cutscenes easier to hear without repeatedly adjusting the overall volume between dialogue and combat.

Player feedback described the PlayStation 5 dialogue fix as a major improvement, particularly for those who had been raising the sound system volume during conversations and lowering it again for battles.

CD Projekt Red says it is continuing to gather bug reports and player feedback. More substantial updates may follow as the remastered release is refined ahead of the planned Songs of the Past DLC expansion next year.
