Seven Xbox games are available to try this weekend
Xbox Free Play Days is offering seven games to play through Sunday, 11 October. The selection includes an extraction shooter, a surreal sci-fi sequel, a survival adventure set in the Chornobyl Exclusion Zone, horror, racing and tactical strategy.
Five titles are available to all Xbox players, while Screamer and Family Man require an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, Premium or Essential subscription. Trial lengths and membership conditions vary, so check the Free Play Days section of the Xbox Store before downloading.

ARC Raiders headlines the weekend selection
Embark Studios’ multiplayer extraction shooter is one of the largest attractions in this week’s promotion. Players form teams, search for supplies and attempt to escape a machine-filled world while dealing with hostile robots and rival raiders.
The free trial also arrives alongside Frozen Trail, described as the game’s biggest update since launch. It introduces a new map, additional enemies and challenges, weapon modifications and other content for new players to explore.
Anyone who decides to continue can buy the game at a 50% discount through 15 October. The offer applies after the free-play period, which ends on 11 October.
Three more major adventures
High On Life 2 is a follow-up to Squanch Games’ irreverent first-person shooter. Its intergalactic combat mixes conventional shooting with stabbing and skating, alongside the series’ talking alien weapons.
Players looking for a harsher atmosphere can enter STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl. Its open world draws on the Chornobyl Exclusion Zone, where mutants, rival scavengers and deadly anomalies threaten survival and access to valuable resources. The recently released Update 2.0 improves performance and makes changes intended to create a more immersive experience.

The complete Xbox Free Play Days lineup
The remaining choices cover unsettling puzzles and turn-based pirate strategy. Little Nightmares III is a horror puzzle adventure populated by frightening creatures, while Rogue Waters combines turn-based ship battles with roguelite progression and a crew that can be recruited.
