The Division 2: Echoes of Central Park takes Ubisoft’s post-pandemic shooter into one of New York City’s most recognisable locations, arriving just before a major Zelda release on Nintendo Switch 2.

Ubisoft has confirmed that the horror-focused expansion launches on 3 November for PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One. That puts it two days ahead of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, which arrives on Nintendo Switch 2 on 5 November.
The release date was revealed during an Echoes of Central Park showcase, alongside a new gameplay presentation. The scheduling places the expansion close to one of gaming’s most celebrated adventures, although the two releases offer very different experiences and may appeal to separate audiences.

What happens in Echoes of Central Park?
Central Park becomes an explorable area in The Division series for the first time. During the original outbreak, the park was used as a mass burial ground. Years later, it has become an overgrown and unsettling location, surrounded by rumours about what may be hiding among the trees.

The campaign begins when Division agents intercept a distress signal from deep inside the park. Their investigation leads to reports of missing people, violent deaths and increasingly strange stories about the forest’s inhabitants.
Ubisoft is pushing the series further into horror than earlier expansions. The story explores paranoia and the way repeated rumours can begin to feel real, giving Central Park a threatening atmosphere rather than presenting it as a conventional urban combat zone.
New map areas, companions and co-op play
The expansion also adds the Upper West Side. Its new map runs from Lincoln Square to the Dakota District, expanding the New York setting beyond Central Park.
Players can approach the campaign alone or play cooperatively. Three new companions can join the fight: Brayleigh Callahan, Elwood Franklin and Morse Feeney.

A different kind of endgame
Echoes of Central Park introduces an endgame system that changes the usual power balance. At first, players take the role of hunted prey, stripped of their familiar technology and advantages. As they uncover more about the park and collect new equipment, they gradually gain control and can become the hunters themselves.
The downloadable content also includes six new skill variants, a new gear set and an Exotic weapon called The Ratel.
