The Pokémon Trading Card Game’s 30th anniversary set has finally reached stores, but availability has been fleeting as collectors and resellers rush to secure booster packs. This launch’s biggest chase is a trio of Mew cards with red, green and blue artwork that resembles a photographic negative.
Initially dismissed by some fans as an elaborate hoax, the RGB Mew cards have emerged as some of the rarest cards in the game. Early resale listings are already testing the upper limits of collector demand.
A blue RGB Mew has reportedly sold for more than $20,000
Early eBay listings for the RGB cards begin in the thousands of dollars. At least one confirmed sale reportedly saw the blue variant change hands for more than $20,000.

Some sellers are asking for as much as $150,000, although there is no indication that a card has sold for that amount. Listings containing all three Mew cards are also appearing for considerably less, making it too early to establish a reliable long-term resale value.
Launch-week prices may not last
The current prices are being driven by release-day excitement and limited supply. As more packs are opened, the market could settle significantly over the coming weeks and months. Anyone considering a major purchase would be wise to wait at least 48 hours before treating an asking price as a proven market value.

How rare are the RGB Mew cards?
The physical cards’ official pull rate is not yet known. Some collectors speculate that a card could appear just once in every 20,000 booster packs if the reported rarity is accurate.
Players examining the data in Pokémon Trading Card Game Live have identified a possible one-in-10,000 rate in the app’s code. However, it remains unclear whether that digital figure reflects the odds for the physical cards included in the 30th anniversary packs.
