Spoiler warning: This guide discusses relationship events and the ending structure in Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave.

Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave has a large recruitable cast, making romance a natural question for players familiar with the series. Characters build relationships through support levels as they fight together and spend time in the city.

However, the game handles intimacy differently from Fire Emblem: Three Houses. There is no traditional romance route in which you select a partner and unlock a dedicated romantic scene.

Does Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave have romance?

Fortune’s Weave does not include a romance system like the one found in Three Houses. That does not mean the story avoids attraction or flirtation. Several characters show clear affection for one another during support conversations and the main story.

Raising a character’s support level can unlock up to three conversations: ranks C, B and A. Some of these scenes contain romantic undertones or direct displays of affection. Esmeralda, for example, makes her feelings for Dietrich clear from early in the game, while other characters have openly romantic interactions during the campaign.

The closest equivalent to the earlier games’ S-Rank relationships is the protagonist’s paired ending with Eshmel. Even so, the scenes available during play are not necessarily romantic, so players should not expect a conventional dating or marriage system.

How paired endings work

After the final battle, Eshmel can be teleported to the location of another character. Choosing this option presents a list of characters who have reached support level five with the protagonist.

Selecting one of those characters unlocks their S-Rank support conversation. Once unlocked, the scene can be watched again at the Shrine of Causality in the Obelisk Chamber. Reaching this rank does not guarantee that the resulting exchange is romantic.

The paired ending with Leda illustrates the distinction. Eshmel and Leda, the Siren of the Six-String, share a warm conversation about the events of the game and their plans for the future. The final summaries then explain what happened to the recruited characters after the story concludes.

In Leda’s case, Eshmel’s summary says that the two remain together after the game, but it does not describe their relationship as romantic.

What support ranks mean

  • C, B and A supports: These conversations become available as character relationships develop.
  • Support level five: This qualifies a character for Eshmel’s post-battle selection.
  • S-Rank support: The chosen character receives a final conversation that can later be replayed at the Shrine of Causality.
  • Paired ending: The conclusion may describe an ongoing bond without confirming a romantic relationship.

Fortune’s Weave is a substantial game, and relationship events are only one part of its many systems. New players may also want to consider which character to choose first, how to change heroes, and whether Casual or Classic mode best suits their campaign.

During the opening Heroic Games matches, recruiting more characters and unlocking Boons of Salvation can help shape the campaign. Free time is also important: visit the Perch and make time for a Bird Time session as you progress.
