GTA 6: 7 Unanswered Questions After the Previews

Rockstar’s extended Netflix presentation has offered the clearest look yet at Grand Theft Auto 6. The footage focused on gameplay rather than developer interviews, giving players plenty to examine before the 19 November 2026 release.

It also left several important details unresolved. Here are seven questions still awaiting clear answers, covering customisation, storage, PC timing, online play, casting and more.

1. How deep will character and home customisation be?

Official footage has shown Jason’s house and Lucia’s apartment, while previews indicate that players cannot buy additional homes. Rockstar’s reasoning is that expanding a property portfolio would not suit a couple constantly living on the run.

Jason’s property appears to be under construction in the first two trailers, leaving open questions about furnishings, renovations and other possible changes. Exercise, sleep and diet will affect Jason and Lucia’s appearances, but it is not clear whether those changes can become extreme or will remain relatively restrained, as they did with Arthur Morgan in Red Dead Redemption 2.

2. How much storage will GTA 6 require?

The game is expected to launch digitally on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, so console owners may need to free substantial drive space before 19 November. Several current PS5 games already occupy more than 100 GB: Gran Turismo 7 uses 197 GB, Mortal Kombat 1 takes 177 GB and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth requires 150 GB.

With its detailed visuals and large map, GTA 6 could approach, or even exceed, 200 GB. Rockstar has not confirmed the installation size.

3. When will the PC version arrive?

Rockstar has officially announced GTA 6 for PS5 and Xbox Series X only. A PC edition appears likely, but the studio’s previous release pattern suggests a delay rather than a simultaneous launch.

Red Dead Redemption 2 reached PC a little over a year after its console release, while GTA 5 took about 19 months. A PC version could appear in late 2027, although early 2028 seems the more plausible window based on that history.

4. What happens to Grand Theft Auto Online?

When Rockstar discussed pricing and pre-orders in June, it described the new game as a “single-player experience”. That has not stopped speculation about a completely new online game, or about the existing GTA Online expanding with locations and events connected to GTA 6.

Financial leaks earlier in 2026 indicated that GTA Online remains a major source of revenue for Rockstar and Take-Two Interactive. Continued support would therefore make commercial sense, even though the exact plan is unknown.

5. Who makes up the cast?

Although almost 30 minutes of footage has introduced Jason and Lucia, the performers behind the two leads have not been named. Rockstar has also kept the wider cast largely under wraps.

Stephen Root has confirmed that he plays Brian Heder, a rough-edged mentor who gives Jason and Lucia assignments. Root is known for King of the Hill and Office Space, and recently won an Emmy for Widow’s Bay.

Earlier games used prominent film and television performers. Vice City featured Ray Liotta, Tom Sizemore, Dennis Hopper, Danny Trejo, Debbie Harry and Jenna Jameson. San Andreas included Ice-T, Samuel L. Jackson, James Woods, Charlie Murphy and David Cross. A long-running but unconfirmed rumour says Liotta may have been considered to reprise Tommy Vercetti, but wanted more money than Rockstar would pay.

With no major cast leak so far, GTA 6 may follow GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 by relying on accomplished performers who are less immediately recognisable.

6. Can Jason and Lucia become an intimate couple?

The previews establish that Jason and Lucia share a close living arrangement, but they do not confirm whether the relationship can become sexual. Their romance, if players pursue it, requires attention and good behaviour from both characters. Rockstar North’s Rob Nelson has also said that players can keep their relationship strictly platonic.

As Nelson explained in an interview, the story keeps the pair together for much of the adventure, with their partnership central to the narrative.

Earlier leaks have claimed that the game includes strip clubs, a nudist colony and detailed representation of different body types, including full frontal nudity. The Netflix footage did not show those elements.

7. Will players be able to keep a pet alligator?

The cover art prominently features a smiling alligator that fans have nicknamed “Auto”. The Netflix footage also included a short airboat sequence, while earlier trailers showed alligators and the latest presentation included a friendly pitbull.

There is no confirmation that players can keep an alligator as a pet. Given that the game already connects character wellbeing with exercise and sleep, caring for a dangerous reptile remains a playful possibility rather than an announced feature.

Grand Theft Auto 6 launches on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X on 19 November 2026.
