Soul Splinters
Soul Splinters are socketable items that work in a similar way to gems. They add effects to equipment while also improving selected character statistics. The Greater Splinter of the Black Soultone, featured in the 3.2.0 PTR information, can provide 30 to all stats, collect souls from defeated enemies and strengthen a character according to the number of souls absorbed.
A quest through Diablo history
The seasonal quest line sends players after the Prime Evils in locations connected with earlier entries in the series. Diablo waits beneath Tristram Cathedral, Baal can be confronted at the Arreat Summit, and Mephisto is found deeper inside the Durance of Hate.
Defeating these major enemies rewards modifiers and upgrades for use with War Plans. The season also offers nine legacy Uniques aimed at veteran players, including Leoric’s Crown, Stone of Jordan and The Furnace.
