Lies of P Sequel Trademark Points Towards Oz

Lies of P has become one of the most successful Soulslike games made outside FromSoftware, passing four million copies sold since its 2023 release. Now, a newly filed trademark appears to strengthen the theory about the series’ next setting.

A post-credits clue points beyond Krat

The game’s final scene reveals that Giangio is actually Philippus Paracelsus, a character connected to the events that devastated Krat. Paracelsus says he must locate someone called Dorothy.

The scene then cuts to a mysterious figure walking across Krat’s rooftops in ruby slippers. After stopping, she clicks her heels together — a clear visual reference to The Wizard of Oz.

What could the Lies of P sequel be about?

Neowiz, the game’s publisher, has filed a European Union trademark for a video game called Wonders of O. The filing with the European Union Intellectual Property Office does not confirm the project’s story, but its title closely matches the Oz-inspired direction suggested by the ending.

The sequel may not use the name “Oz” directly. The original game draws from Carlo Collodi’s The Adventures of Pinocchio without naming its hero Pinocchio, so a follow-up could similarly reinterpret L. Frank Baum’s Oz books under a different title.

There are several possibilities. Dorothy could travel from Krat to an Oz-like world, or characters and ideas from Oz could instead arrive in Krat. At this stage, Neowiz and developer Nough — formerly known as Round8 Studio — have not revealed specific sequel details.

The sequel is confirmed, but has no release window

The developers confirmed a Lies of P sequel soon after the original game launched. However, no release window has been announced.

Before the next full game, the team released Overture, a prequel expansion that arrived with new difficulty options. Lies of P has also since launched on Nintendo Switch 2 with its downloadable content included.
