Marvel’s Wolverine bosses list
The five main bosses revealed for the game are:
- Omega Red
- Sentinel Prototype
- Deathstrike
- Sabretooth
- Nathaniel Essex
Omega Red

Omega Red is the first boss encountered and appears during the opening mission. In this version of the Marvel universe, he serves Bolivar Trask, helping capture and kill mutants. Wolverine, Sabretooth and Mystique infiltrate Trask’s compound to rescue Team X leader Nathaniel Essex, with the battle marking the end of the tutorial.
Omega Red attacks with two metal tentacles, using several striking patterns and throwing objects from the surrounding area. After Wolverine wins, he tears the villain’s arms from his body, apparently killing him.
Sentinel Prototype

Sentinels are machines built to hunt mutants, and Trask’s prototype is an enormous version still under construction. Wolverine faces it alongside Mystique while the robot remains trapped in its factory without legs.
The machine fires lasers and pounds the ground. Mystique provides cover from a nearby ledge while Wolverine attacks its arms, damaging the cables inside. Once staggered, the prototype collapses and becomes vulnerable.
The second phase moves outside, where Sabretooth joins the fight. Wolverine eventually decapitates the robot. Trask attempts to detonate its core, but Essex stops the explosion. After the group captures Trask, Wolverine kills him by driving his claws through his back.
Deathstrike

Known elsewhere as Lady Deathstrike, Deathstrike is a long-standing X-Men enemy with a personal determination to kill Wolverine. Here, she leads the Hand, a faction of Japanese ninjas serving a demon called the Beast of the Hand.
Wolverine and Jean Grey spend much of the story searching for Walter Langkowski, also known as Sasquatch, after the Hand kidnaps him for his scientific expertise. The group wants to repair the Helix Engine, a device capable of activating dormant X-genes in humans and creating new mutants. Deathstrike guards the engine, forcing Wolverine to fight her.
She combines rapid close-range slashes with sword-based ranged attacks. After Wolverine destroys her sword, the battle shifts to a claw-focused second stage. Deathstrike drives her claws into Wolverine’s chest, but he cuts off her arms. She then enters the Helix Engine and is immediately reduced to ash.
Sabretooth

Near the end of the game, Wolverine must battle his former ally Sabretooth. Logan understands that Essex is becoming a threat, but Sabretooth’s appetite for violence either blinds him to the danger or leaves him unconcerned.
The opening section rewards parries and evasive movement, with attack opportunities appearing after Sabretooth’s relentless assaults. Midway through the encounter, Sabretooth claws Wolverine’s eyes, leaving him temporarily blind. The player must sense his position while standing on a wooden raft, with the sequence presented through quick-time events.
Wolverine is later captured by a Sentinel and knocked from the sky when Sabretooth throws a food cart. The fight ends with Sabretooth falling from a cliff after another failed attempt by Logan to change his mind. He is impaled on the same shopping cart, although this is not the end of his story.
Nathaniel Essex

Nathaniel Essex is the final major opponent. Marvel readers will recognise the name as the identity associated with Mister Sinister, who becomes that villain with the help of Apocalypse. However, the name Mister Sinister is never spoken in the game.
Essex initially claims to be protecting mutants from Trask. His goal changes when he seeks control of the Helix Engine, intending to activate dormant X-genes across the world. That plan would kill everyone who is not a mutant.
When Essex’s Master Mold, a larger and more powerful Sentinel, attacks Tokyo, Jean Grey and Sunfire confront the machine while Wolverine battles Essex, his former saviour. Essex can summon duplicates, launch ranged attacks, use a sword and parry with a forcefield. Master Mold joins the second phase, adding further attacks for Wolverine to evade.
After Wolverine defeats the giant machine, he and Essex fight again. Jean Grey discovers her true Phoenix powers, but Essex still drives a purple energy sword through Wolverine’s head before dying. Logan then hears Apocalypse’s voice, leaving the possibility of a sequel open.
