Helluva Boss and Hazbin Hotel will finally begin crossing over during the third season of Vivienne Medrano’s adult animated musical series, with the first part arriving on October 14, 2026.

The two shows already share a fictional universe, but their upcoming crossover will mark the first time characters from each series directly appear together. Medrano’s animation studio, SpindleHorse, will retain full creative control following the move of Helluva Boss to Prime Video.
New episodes will also eventually be released free on YouTube, joining the first two seasons. The shared setting has previously connected the shows in broad terms, but season 3 is set to make that relationship more visible.

Visual connections arrive first
The first half of season 3 was written before the Amazon arrangement was finalised, so its crossover material is comparatively restrained. Medrano says viewers should watch for visual connections and possible appearances by Hazbin Hotel characters.

The more substantial crossover plans are reserved for the second half of the season, which was developed after the Prime Video deal. Medrano describes that material as more than a simple cameo, although she has not revealed which characters may appear.
Medrano says she is particularly interested in a larger, focused crossover between the two series, but that viewers will have to wait to see how far season 3 goes.
The crossover is possible because both series occupy the same shared universe, while still following their own casts and storylines.
Why season 3 is split into two parts
Helluva Boss season 3 contains 15 episodes. Medrano says that is an unusually large order by current animation standards, effectively approaching the size of two seasons.
Splitting the release allows the first batch to reach audiences sooner rather than holding every episode until the following year. The first part was not originally written to end as a conventional season finale, but the team adjusted its presentation so the closing episode carries more of a finale-like feeling.

Medrano stresses that the first half is not the conclusion of the story. It is not intended as a cliffhanger, but it does function as a narrative midpoint, leaving the larger developments for the second half.
What to expect from the crossover
- The first half of season 3 begins on October 14, 2026.
- Early crossover material will focus mainly on visual appearances and references.
- The second half will include a more direct interaction, described as more than a cameo.
- The two-part season is scheduled to continue with its second half in 2027.

For now, the first episodes will establish the crossover through smaller details, while the more ambitious meeting between the shows remains ahead. Medrano has made clear that a full, focused crossover is something she would like to pursue if the opportunity continues.
