Diablo 4 is continuing beyond the reveal of Diablo 5, with Blizzard confirming a new class, a major legacy-themed season and a Nintendo Switch 2 release.
The Amazon, last playable in Diablo 2, will return to the series in a class pack scheduled for the first half of 2027. Before then, players can revisit the franchise’s history through the upcoming Season of Hell’s Legacy.

The Amazon returns to Diablo 4
The Amazon is a fast, precise fighter built around ranged combat. Her signature equipment includes a bow, while the class also introduces the Javelin weapon type to Diablo 4 for the first time.
Blizzard’s action RPG currently features eight playable classes. The original 2023 launch roster consisted of the Barbarian, Druid, Necromancer, Rogue and Sorcerer. The Spiritborn, Paladin and Warlock were added through the game’s two expansions.
Season of Hell’s Legacy celebrates 30 years
Revealed during the BlizzCon 2026 opening ceremony, Season of Hell’s Legacy is designed as a broad celebration of Diablo history. The franchise reaches its 30th anniversary in 2026, and the season will draw on earlier games for its content.
Players will encounter returning enemies, locations and items connected to previous Diablo titles, including elements associated with the series’ namesake. The season begins on 15 September 2026 and will also include a crossover with The Witcher.
Diablo 4 arrives on Nintendo Switch 2
Diablo 4: The Age of Hatred Collection is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 alongside Season of Hell’s Legacy. The port had previously been indicated by a leak from Indonesia’s game ratings board, followed by an August report suggesting an announcement was close. Blizzard formally presented it at BlizzCon.
The Switch 2 collection bundles Diablo 4 with both expansions: Vessel of Hatred and Lord of Hatred. It can be played at BlizzCon 2026, while the public release is set for 15 September.
The game and its expansions are also available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X. Players considering a dedicated gaming setup can compare options in RETROCADE’s arcade machine buying guide or explore the wider range of arcade machines.
What to expect next
