Spoiler warning: This guide reveals the locations and rewards for all five hidden treasures in Onimusha: Way of the Sword.
The hidden treasure quests become available during the main quest “To Live is to Suffer”. Each quest adds a green search circle to the map, while an Old Drawing provides the visual clues needed to locate the exact chest. Every chest must also be revealed with your gauntlet.

Hidden Treasure No. 1
- Reward: 1 fine silk cloth and 2 oni stones
Speak to the woman northwest of the Gojo Street – West Spirit Mirror to begin this quest. Old Drawing No. 1 shows a rooftop with a pagoda behind it and identifies the destination as the top of Kiyomizu-zaka Slope.
From the Kiyomizu-zaka Spirit Mirror, turn right into the narrow passage behind the buildings. Look left for a ladder, climb it, then use the second ladder above. The chest is on the roof shown in the drawing. Activate it with your gauntlet.
Hidden Treasure No. 2
- Reward: 1 fine silk cloth and 2 oni stones
Start this quest by speaking with the man near the Kiyomizu-zaka Slope Spirit Mirror. His Old Drawing shows a pagoda, a ladder and the words “where the Buddhas overlook the flow”.
The chest lies west of the Yasaka Pagoda Spirit Mirror. Follow the narrow street downhill and take the ladder on the right. At the bottom, turn west to find a small waterfall with Buddha statues above it. Use the gauntlet to reveal the treasure.
Hidden Treasure No. 3
- Reward: 1 fine silk cloth and 2 power stones
Talk to the woman west of the Shijo Street Spirit Mirror, on the north side of the map, to receive Old Drawing No. 3. It depicts a gate opening towards a garden and describes the location as “the temple where dragons soar”.
Travel to the building east of the Kami River – East Spirit Mirror, where you previously fought two genma brothers. Enter the arena area, but turn right before the main building to reach the garden’s eastern side. Walk towards the gate and use your gauntlet when the chest appears.
Hidden Treasure No. 4
- Reward: 1 fine silk cloth and 2 power stones
On Shijo Street, speak to the man selling geta. Old Drawing No. 4 shows the outer corner of a wraparound veranda, with a pagoda visible in the distance.
The destination is in the southeast of the map. From the Gojo Street – East Spirit Mirror, take the stairs to the right, cross the gap by walking along the wall, then follow the path left while heading northeast. Climb the large stone steps at the highest point and enter the building. The chest is on the left side of the veranda.
Hidden Treasure No. 5
- Reward: 1 fine silk cloth, 2 oni stones and 1 skeleton hozuki
Speak to the woman west of the Shijo Street Spirit Mirror on the northern side of the map. After she tells you about an armoured ghost searching for Musashi, she gives you Old Drawing No. 5. The drawing shows part of a roof beside a street and describes the destination as “the highest place in the capital”.
The clue points to the Yasaka Pagoda. Go east of the Rokudo-chinnoji Temple and enter the area beside the Yasaka Pagoda Spirit Mirror. Turn right at the entrance, climb the stairways and continue until you reach an opening onto the roof. Move to its southern side and use the gauntlet to collect the final chest.
