Kingdom Hearts fans may need to wait longer for Sora and his Keyblade to arrive in Fortnite. Leakers claim the crossover has been pushed back after failing to appear with the first Chapter 7 Season 4 update.

Chapter 7 Season 4 has introduced a wide range of video-game characters to Fortnite, including Sonic the Hedgehog, Spyro and Crash Bandicoot. Sora was expected to follow, but reports from several leakers suggest his arrival has been delayed.
Why Sora was expected in the first update
When the season launched, Epic Games released patch notes for Fortnite Override. The notes named several upcoming collaborations, including Persona 5 and Kingdom Hearts.
The accompanying key art showed Sora holding his distinctive Keyblade, while the written details said the crossover would arrive “later in the season”. Game files also suggested that the weapon could be introduced as a reskin of the Typhoon Blade after leaker Blortzen identified updated assets.

Rocket League clues point to a postponed launch
The first Chapter 7 Season 4 update, version 42.10, went live on Thursday without an official announcement for the Kingdom Hearts content. That absence has increased speculation that the crossover was moved to a later update.
According to the available leaks, the in-game event has been fully decrypted. Vehicle cosmetics shared between Rocket League and Fortnite have led dataminers to believe the collaboration was originally planned for this weekend.
The reported replacement date is Thursday, September 17, although Epic Games has not officially confirmed that schedule. Players should therefore treat the date as unverified until a formal announcement arrives.
Some of the Kingdom Hearts cosmetics reportedly coming to Rocket League have already been revealed. Those previews offer an early look at the vehicle customisation expected to connect with the wider crossover.

What this means for players
For now, Sora’s appearance remains part of the season’s announced plans rather than an available item. Australian players will need to watch the in-game news feed and official updates for confirmation of the release timing.
The crossover also highlights how modern game collaborations increasingly connect with arcade culture and collecting.
