The Gentlemen season 3 is officially happening
Guy Ritchie’s crime series The Gentlemen returned to Netflix with its eight-episode second season on 3 September 2026. The show combines elaborate criminal schemes with car chases, shootouts and lavish locations, following Duke Eddie Horniman as he balances aristocratic responsibility with life in the drug trade.
Netflix and Ritchie confirmed the renewal in August 2026, roughly one week before season 2 arrived. That makes a third season certain, although its production schedule and launch date remain unconfirmed.

What could happen in season 3?
The first season established Eddie’s position. After returning from service as a United Nations peacekeeping officer following his father’s death, he discovered that a marijuana cultivation operation was running on the family estate. Eddie initially tried to settle his debts with gang leader Bobby Glass, played by Ray Winstone, but eventually entered the drug business to restore the family property.
Season 2 pushed Eddie further into both worlds. He became a hereditary member of the House of Lords in an effort to support legislation that would decriminalise marijuana, despite Bobby’s opposition to the bill. Eddie also borrowed from Italian mob boss Marco Moretti, played by Sergio Castellitto, to expand his operation. When the vote failed, billionaire Fred Johnston, played by Giancarlo Esposito, used the estate as security for a loan that would help Eddie repay Moretti. Bobby later bought that debt from Johnston, giving him greater leverage over Eddie and allowing him to treat the duke as a possible successor.
Eddie’s personal life collapsed as well. He married Moretti’s goddaughter, Italian Countess Isabella, played by Benedetta Porcaroli, but she was killed the following day in an explosion intended to murder both newlyweds. Eddie discovered that his older brother Freddy, played by Daniel Ings, had arranged the attack with cocaine dealer Gospel John Dixon, played by Pearce Quigley. Freddy had also kidnapped his infant nephew to remove another potential rival for the inheritance.
With help from a cocaine supplier working with Bobby’s daughter Susie, played by Kaya Scodelario, Eddie captured Dixon. He then forced Freddy to kill Dixon with a chainsaw.
The next season is therefore positioned around the consequences of Freddy’s betrayal. Eddie’s mother asked him not to kill his brother, but trust between them is unlikely to return easily. Eddie must also decide whether to remain Bobby’s lieutenant or build an independent criminal empire, while his family grows increasingly uneasy about the danger surrounding the business.
There is also room for the unresolved romantic tension between Eddie and Susie. Both characters are single again, giving the series another opportunity to explore their complicated relationship.

When might The Gentlemen season 3 arrive?
Netflix has not announced a release date for season 3. The series debuted in March 2024, and season 2 followed in September 2026. If production follows a similar gap, a 2028 release is a reasonable expectation, but it is not an official date.
