The Blood of Dawnwalker can be a surprisingly flexible adventure. Your difficulty setting, decisions and approach to exploration all affect how quickly you reach the ending. A focused story-mode run may take only a few hours, while a thorough playthrough can extend well beyond 50 hours.
This guide explains the expected playtime for different approaches, without revealing major story spoilers. If you enjoy comparing campaign lengths, you can find more gaming coverage in the RETROCADE arcade blog.

How long does The Blood of Dawnwalker take to finish?
The Blood of Dawnwalker does not force Coen through a conventional main-quest sequence. Instead, he has one central objective: rescue his family, who have been captured by the Vrakhir Brencis and taken to Greifberg Castle.
Once the prologue ends, you can attempt to challenge Brencis whenever you choose. That freedom makes the final playtime vary considerably, but rushing straight to the confrontation is not equally practical at every difficulty.
Fast route: around five to 10 hours
On story mode, an especially determined player may reach Brencis after only a few hours. However, even then, spending several in-game days completing quests and improving Coen’s equipment is advisable before entering the fight.
On the standard “fair” or “challenging” settings, defeating Brencis within a few hours is highly unlikely. Quests do more than improve Coen’s abilities: they can weaken Brencis’ court, reveal shortcuts, provide useful gear and unlock powerful allies. Even a rushed playthrough should therefore allow about five to 10 hours.

Relaxed playthrough: about 30 hours
Players choosing a normal difficulty and taking time to explore, complete quests and upgrade skills should expect roughly 30 hours before they are equipped to fight through Greifberg Castle. This pace usually leads to an ending around the 20th in-game day.

Thorough or high-difficulty run: 50 hours or more
At a higher difficulty, Coen may need the full 30 days to develop his combat strength before taking on Brencis. Some players will also choose to use every available day, completing as many activities and quests as possible regardless of whether Coen is already strong enough.
When that approach is combined with extensive map exploration, a complete playthrough can take 50 hours or more. The result is a much broader experience than a direct rush to the ending.

How long is the prologue?
The prologue normally takes about three hours when you explore the area and use each time segment for questing. It is possible to skip time until Blood Mass, however, which significantly reduces the opening section.
Skipping those opportunities can remove several hours from the prologue, although it also means missing some of the activities intended to establish Coen’s adventure.

Which playtime should you expect?
- Story mode rush: potentially only a few hours.
- Rushed practical run: around five to 10 hours.
- Normal difficulty and relaxed progress: about 30 hours, ending around day 20.
- High difficulty or comprehensive exploration: roughly 50 hours or more, potentially using all 30 in-game days.
In short, there is no single completion time for The Blood of Dawnwalker. The open structure lets you pursue Brencis early, prepare carefully or spend the full available period strengthening Coen and exploring Vale Sangora.
