Sony’s September State of Play covered major PlayStation releases, expansions, indies, subscription additions and new hardware accessories. Here are the key announcements and release dates from the showcase.
Resident Evil
The presentation opened with a new look at Zach Cregger’s Resident Evil film. The story follows Bryan, a medical courier sent to Raccoon City during the outbreak seen in Resident Evil 2. The footage shows zombies leaping from rooftops into the streets before Bryan discovers that they can, in fact, die. The film reaches cinemas on September 18.
Marvel’s Wolverine
Insomniac Games’ Marvel’s Wolverine received another trailer ahead of its September 15 launch. Alongside the expected hacking and slashing, the footage suggests the game draws from several X-Men storylines, with Sentinels pursuing Mutants.
Ghost of Yotei: Complete Edition
Ghost of Yotei will receive the single-player Most Wanted update on October 1, the same day as the game’s Complete Edition. Its new mode has roguelike elements: players create builds with different playable characters while hunting successive enemy waves. Jin Sakai, the protagonist of Ghost of Tsushima, will also be playable.
Monster Hunter Wilds – Ascendance
Capcom’s trailer for the Monster Hunter Wilds expansion Ascendance focused on its characters and locations, while also teasing larger monsters and sizeable boss encounters. The expansion is planned for 2027.
Metro 2039
Following its Gamescom appearance, 4A Games presented more gameplay from the post-apocalyptic shooter Metro 2039. The game is scheduled to launch on February 4.

Maneater 2
Maneater 2 expands the shark-survival concept by letting players terrorise people on land as well as creatures in the ocean. The game is due in 2027.
Crimson Desert
Pearl Abyss showed the Charting the Unknown update for Crimson Desert. In addition to its established combat, the update appears to introduce city-management elements. It launches on October 15.
PlayStation Lego
PlayStation and Lego revealed a 1,911-piece model of the original PlayStation console. The set includes references to Gran Turismo and Ape Escape.
Final Fantasy Resonance
Final Fantasy Resonance is a new 2D-and-3D role-playing game reworked from the now-unplayable mobile title Final Fantasy Brave Exvius. It releases on October 22, while a demo is available immediately.
Gundam Rogue Orbit
Gundam Rogue Orbit transforms the mech-piloting anime setting into a fast-paced hack-and-slash adventure. Its launch date is March 5.
Hunter’s Moon
The showcase’s indie selection began with Hunter’s Moon, an eerie fantasy game scheduled for October 26.
Uncanyon
Published by Annapurna Interactive, Uncanyon is a puzzle game set in a world that changes shape as the player moves through it. It is planned for 2027.
Keeper
Double Fine confirmed that Keeper is coming to PlayStation. The studio showed a trailer for the game, which had previously been available on PC and Xbox. It is available today.
Rev. Noir
Konami offered a closer look at Rev. Noir, an anime-influenced action RPG. The trailer outlines the conflict at the centre of its science-fiction fantasy world. The game is coming in 2027.
Rhapsody in Scarlet
Rhapsody in Scarlet is an action game that initially resembles a 1920s story set in New York City, before revealing a fantasy world where period styling meets magic.
PlayStation Plus additions
Sony highlighted several games heading to PlayStation Plus, including the shooter Mycopunk. The Classics catalogue will add Mega Man X: Command Mission, Dino Crisis 2 and the original Ratchet & Clank.

Saros
The free Zenith update for Saros, due later this year, will add a boss-rush mode, New Game Plus and further accessibility options.
Gran Turismo 7
Gran Turismo 7 will receive the two-part Spec IV update later this year, with one release in October and the other in December. New tracks, cars and racing modes are planned, including Family Mode, described as a “super family-friendly” option for young children. More details will be shared at the Gran Turismo World Series on October 3.
Until Dawn 2
Firesprite Games showed more of Until Dawn 2, a choice-driven horror adventure about aspiring viral-content creators whose latest stunt places them in genuine danger. It comes to PS5 on January 28.
Grand Theft Auto 6 DualSense controllers
Grand Theft Auto 6 itself did not appear, but Sony revealed two themed DualSense controllers. They launch on November 19, with pre-orders opening on September 10.
Final Fantasy VII Revelation
The showcase concluded with an extended look at Final Fantasy VII Revelation. Its release-date trailer highlighted the party and confirmed that Cid and Vincent are playable this time. The game launches on April 8.
